With Guentzel breaking his shoulder I don't think I'll be able to compete with the top teams, so I'm opening it up for some trades.
RW Cam Atkinson, $2m (2019-2020) - unsustainably low shooting percentage. his goals will be coming in the 2nd half here.
RW Phil Kessel, $5.6m (2019-2020) - a wildly low shooting percentage for him and his linemates can't last 82 games. high chance the points will be there soon.
G Michael Hutchinson, $0.9m (2020-2021) - won his last 2 games, so he is probably the backup a while longer.
D Brent Burns, $5.9m (2022-2023) - after the coaching change Burns is scoring 3 pts/g
looking for centers and perhaps a goalie prospect

LW Max Pacioretty, $7.8m (2022-2023)
LW/RW Alex Killorn, $3m (2020-2021)
D Mike Green, $1m (2020-2021)
X-D Dustin Byfuglien, $5.3m (2019-2020), IR
D Erik Johnson, $2m (2021-2022
G Jimmy Howard, $4.5m (2020-2021)
G Corey Crawford, $6.5m (2020-2021)

anyone looking to gain some cap space for the next 3 years?
I can trade D Jake Gardiner, 3.6m (2021-2022) and pay his contract for a draft pick this year. you can buy him out and gain 1.2M/yr or send him to the minors and get 1.8M/yr

Take two to tango, though. Most owners with adequate or surplus SP aren't interested in prospects as they're trying to win now.

My issue in LIVE currently is having Strider/Alcantara/Giolito all on the long shelf, so I am more retooling than rebuilding

Also agreed. Top quality pitching probably means not much depth. A few injuries can challenge you. Pitching other than top end pitching has been devalued in fantasy. Everyone wants the stud.

I here to tell you that ALL major league pitching is good pitching. A great hitter beats a terrible pitcher just 3 out of 10 times. Which means the worst pitchers > the greatest hitters.

Greg Maddux had the best outlook. He viewed himself as tye dealer/house and you had to beat him. Just like in the casino, the house nearly always wins.

He had that view b/c of his father who was a blackjack dealer in Vegas.

Yes @Brent!! That is it exactly. Pitching is the house & it always wins in the end.

There shouldn't be many innings available in FA in dynasty fantasy leagues IMO. Thats guaranteed money! To hell with High A ball.

The problem with the minors is not the system as a whole, it is some Farm Systems are more 'elite' at being able to produce talent than others. If you look across MLB teams you can pretty easily tell the great systems from the weaker systems and talent development

With regard to pitching in the Minors...there is method to the madness. It is all about what you make of it tho. I agree that it can seem certain type arms in the minors are a dime a dozen

This is fantasy baseball. We dont generate revenue selling prospects and merchandising. Our top farms dont get a write up in Sports Illustrated.
