Blue Jays Receive: Tyler Glasnow SP/TB Spencer Strider SP/ATL (Will be placed on Majors roster) Bryan De La Cruz OF/MIA Bryce Harper OF/PHI Carter Kieboom 3B/WSH Brady Whalen SS/StL
Yankees Receive: Max Scherzer SP/NYM. **TOR pays 2.5M of Scherzer's salary in 2022, '23** Josh Hader RP/MLW Luke Voit 1B/NYY Aaron Judge OF/NYY
Jays are doing this to get a little younger and obtain some pieces the team can truly build around. With the loss of basically all of my OF, we had to blow the roster up a bit, so it was done. The OF additions of De La Cruz and Harper are of immense value to the club as we believe in both. Add in a young pitcher in Strider, who could be an electric starter or closer, and the rotation is solidified. Glasnow will be back in 2023 and the team is aware and fine with that as he is very reliable and good when healthy. The most underrated add in this deal might be Kieboom who will likely begin t tap into his potential this season as he is only 24. These were interesting negotiations and the Jays are pleased with their return.

Jays Trade:
SP Jordan Balazovic SP Joey Wentz 3B Brett Baty OF Micah Bello 2B Edouard Julien
Brewers Trade:
SP Max Fried $3.5m (2024) SP Yaifer Perdomo OF Leugim Castillo Round 10 (18) Round 10 (29)
Not easy to move Fried as he was a key part of my success and just hitting his prime coming off a huge second half last year. However, I feel like return here is worth it. I don't have a many big impact prospects so adding a few here should help long term, especially with current MLB squad mostly on tail end of careers. Baty and Balazovic are the 2 I am most excited about and assuming season plays out normally good chance both will be up at somepoint.
As a new owner on rebuilding team, sometimes you have to take chances to move forward. That is exactly what I am doing here. I am dealing for a solid pitcher then taking a shot with the 10th round picks as well as with Yaifer Perdomo who is a 20 y/o pitcher in the Backs system who shows promise. LG Castillo is possibly a tad underrated yet he does have the possibility of at least being a utility man in the Bigs if not a little more. While this is a risky deal for the Jays, the Draft is where it could be for the Jays and taking chances on some prospects will be in order.

The Oakland A's have agreed to trade Catcher Shea Langeliers and Pitcher Freddy Tarnok to the Blue Jays for SP Tanner Houck, Pitcher Vladimir Gutierrez, and SS Tanner Morris.
The A's feel this move helps bolster its pitching as well much added depth to its MI position.
Pending Toronto to confirm
Jays are doing this because they realized they had a need at catcher and decided to go for one of the better power hitting Cs in the minors. Shea will be joining an Atlanta club that has a strong offense already, and packing him int the middle or latter third of the lineup to start will provide him excellent RBI chances. Tarnok could be an overlooked arm, but he has the potential to fit in the back of a rotation or be a power arm out of the pen. While Toronto may lose a little in pitching, there is enough depth in th minors that could be called up to help.
