Title: Re: GM Application & Available Organizations
Post by: kenny on July 18, 2012, 08:38:50 PM
Yes, I update the spreadsheet with all the rosters. Usually happens weekly, but may sometimes bi-weekly depending on the number of transactions to be processed. Fantrax / 40-man roster changes get updated asap since that affects scoring. You are able to start/bench players within your 40 man roster on Fantrax on your own, but free agents signings, releases, trades and waivers get processed in large part by Cliff (snbts) and Cris (ldsjayhawk). Many thanks to them. I also get involved in that sometimes too.

How did you find out about Armchair Fantasy Baseball?  Thru ESPN board advertising an opening.

Are you interested in only a specific organization? If so, which one?  Rangers, because I heard it's open :)  Otherwise, no, I don't have any special organization requests.

Please read the league constitution. Do you have any questions?  No urgent questions.  This is similar (more detailed, perhaps) to my other 30 team dynasty league, everything makes sense.  Looks to be well put together, and I'd be excited to join up.

Are you interested in only a specific organization? Red Sox if they are available, I'm willing to take any team good or bad however.

Please read the league constitution. Do you have any questions?  Nothing jumps out at me. Everything was very clearly explained in the constitution, seems like an unbelievably professional league, a breath of fresh air.

David, I'll reserve the Angels for you for now, but please take a look at the rosters first and let me know if you change your mind:

NL - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgOowJnfifk6dE5kQmNyQVVQa3hVc1JsZVZnN0ZPV3c

AL - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgOowJnfifk6dDZkdmRvOEVMM3B1SURmVVBMMjZVSlE

I have the combined file as an Excel spreadsheet that I can email if you'd rather have that.

How did you find out about Armchair Fantasy Baseball? Internet search

Are you interested in only a specific organization? If so, which one? The Chicago Cubs would be my preference.

Please read the league constitution. Do you have any questions?

First of all, I'm quite interested in joining the league. I have spent the last 15 years as the commissioner for a couple of successful dynasty leagues, but I've been wanting to join something a bit more complex. In reading the league constitution and looking over the rosters, this looks exactly like what I've been looking for. I'd be grateful for the opportunity to join.

Second, my only question concerns the signings of international and prospect free agents. Since teams can only have six bids out at a time, it would be important to know the deadline for signing these types of players. Is there a deadline, or can it happen all offseason? If there is no deadline, when does the league shift in using 2016 vs. 2015 dollars? I couldn't find these answers in the constitution, so my apologies if I simply didn't see the right section.

Hopefully I get a chance to compete with all of you. Thanks, folks.

How did you find out about Armchair Fantasy Baseball? Was in the league last year, but because f a new job position, didn't think I would have the time necessary to devote to the team, so I gave it up. How did you find out about Armchair Fantasy Baseball?
I am an avid fantasy player and have played across many different sports and platforms; last year I joined an armchair hockey league very similar to the looks of this one and have absolutely loved it.  Baseball is my favorite sport so I think this could be even better than the hockey league and would love to be apart of it.

Are you interested in only a specific organization? If so, which one?
I'd love to take the Cardinals if available but I am fine with any team.

Here are open teams:

:COL: Rockies (65m in current cap, and good talent to build around such as Whit Merrifield and Eloy Jimenez)

:KC: Royals (No cap this year, projected cap of 50m come off season and currently one of the stronger teams with loads of depth)

:MIA-MLB: Marlins  (63m current cap and more in future, but team needs a lot of work if you up for challenge)

:OAK: A's (Loads of cap with 106m projected, and some good cheap talent such as Jeff McNeil under cheap team control till 2024)

:PIT:  Pirates (Projected cap of 90m, and team has some nice bats with Corey Seager, Rafael Devers, Starling Marte)

:SD: Padres (56m projected cap, David Dahl leads a group of underrated bats, and there is Gerrit Cole to build staff around)

:WAS: Nationals (Projected Full cap space of 143m, as somehow entire team is ARB eligible with Ozzie Albies and German Marquez highlighting this group of cost controlled talent)
