Title: Vancouver and Detroit Trade
Post by: izaman3 on August 05, 2019, 10:32:52 AM
Vancouver Receives:
Jacob Trouba, $4.0m (2016-2019)  5.7m (2019-2023)
LW - Blake McLaughlin (2018: 3/79 - 0 Games)

Detroit Receives:
Round 1 - 2019  (from :CAR-NHL:*)
D - Caleb Jones (2015: 4/117 - 0 Games)
RW - Alexander Volkov (2017: 2/48 - 0 Games)
SDP Round 2 - 2020

Vancouver came calling about Trouba and it took a little while for me to see something that would work. Trouba as the #1 D on the Rangers is going to be a stud, but everyone knows how I like prospects and draft picks (its the gambler in me). This deal allows me have a little bit more cap flexibility going into the season, plus I've got young D-men coming up, like Quinn Hughes, who can take Trouba's place on the blueline.

Vancouver to confirm. Thanks for the deal Daz!  :toast:

Vancouver confirm the trade, we trade that of the 28th overall pick, caleb jones who has some top 4 upside but likely be 3rd pairing and edmonton have 2 higher rated D prospects coming up in next 2 years, volkov been putting up points at tampa ahl team but they have alot of winger depth and supp pick
But gaining a Dman that has alot of offensive talents and no big buff to stop him getting top pp time at the rangers with kakko and bread scoring on the pp, plus improves my D becoming my 2nd D with top2 talent plus gain prospect that i like in McLaughlin.
Knew had to give up quite a it to gain a high rated D like trouba but be worth it in long run

Thanks for easy trade talks, Ian

:iatp: Cap related deal. Detroit working on title defense. Canucks land a great dman.

Another cap driven trade. Good value and assets in return for Trouba who gets a fresh start with the NHL's Rangers. I great move for Vancouver.

:thumbsup::iatp: I like this for both sides. Wings getting lots of good pieces. Nucks getting a great blueliner and a solid spec.
