Title: San Francisco Giants Call up Charlie Culberson from Triple-A Fresno

Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com is reporting the San Francisco Giants have promoted second baseman Charlie Culberson from Triple-A Fresno and will start today's game at second, while batting seventh in the lineup. Culberson had a .284 average with 40 hits, 24 RBI's and five homers in 36 games at Triple-A. He will wear the No. 33 in his big league debut.

In other news the Giants have optioned third baseman Conor Gillaspie back to Triple-A and pitcher Jeremy Affeldt has been activated from the DL. The team also designated left-hander Travis Blackley for assignment. Blackley had a 9.00 ERA in four games allowing seven hits and six runs.
