Ranking Minor League Systems
« on: March 06, 2014, 05:20:25 PM »
Since this is a deep league I was curious to see who has the best minor league system.
So I took the Baseball Americas Top 100 Prospects
http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/2014-baseball-america-top-100-prospects-free/

I took the 100 and assigned points in a scale from #1 being worth 100 points, #2 worth 99...etc. 5050 points in all then I totaled them up and here is how it goes...

1. :HOU: 684 points

4. :BAL: 342
5. :MIL: 323

Nice work!  I was thinking of doing this but doing an average of the top 100 lists from MLB.com, BA.com, and ESPN.

11 Astros!  8 in the top 50!  Hope they pay off!

Speaking of minor league systems, Julio Urias started a spring training game today.  He's only 17.  One inning, 2 k's, no runners.  He looked good.

Ok so I added the MLB.com top 100.  They do not take into account foreign players that are on mob deals like Abreu and Tanaka so the list looks a bit different.  But below are the players with their numbers side by side from Baseball America and MLB.
