we all want this great league & setup to get better... that's why Sizz and i signed on. 

then factor in a group of dedicated commish's (from other leagues and past) and we're bound to take FNHL to the next level in 2012-13...

I'm reading the news bulletin and see 2011-12 contracts expire 8/4/2012. If so, that means 2012-13 contracts kick in after that date. My question is when can we start renewing and signing 2012-13 expiring contracts to extensions? On 8/5/2012, when the real NHL season starts or when?

to resign/extend contracts expiring in 2012-13 ... we need 2 yr's worth of extension data, so you'll need to wait a couple of wks once the 2012-13 season starts to use 2011-12 + 12-13 data.

at least that's who hf6k explained it to me.

I hope the Free Agent bidding is going to be reasonable. Took a look back at 2011 bidding and man were there some crazy contracts handed out.

Let's keep it realistic guys.

Allow me to fire the first Free agency period shot here by saying, Don't go nuts on us St.Louis. All that cap space you have is freaking me out!

it looks like in the past it wasn't very consistent. I understand if its over 1.5M it has to be 3 years minimum and so forth, but that wasn't always the case. Here is an example

good point Jonathan. my understanding is that the length of the deal would be flexible while the total value had to total the final FA bid.

however it was never completely clear where extension resigns can be variable length at certain contract values... ex. couldn't the <1.5m contracts be 1yr deals... and the answer was yes with the last set of co-commissioners but not documented officially in the rules.

bottomline, its one of the rule clarifications i've flagged for discussion with my co-commish SizzRat that i'd like clarified before the start of the season.

I looked back through the signings.  why did any sane GM let their goalies walk to FA?

Is there an updated Free agent list somewhere? 

When are we deciding on a league page.  It would be nice to view our teams and player pools on a league page somewhere.  Especially before Free Agency starts

yes, it's in the transaction section, post titled "2012-13 FNHL FREE AGENTS RELEASED BY TEAM"

as indicated in the post intro... this is not a complete list but a starter list of free agents released by teams.

given this is an advanced + deep league, owner/GM's need to use the ProFSL targeted search function to verify is a player is on any of the 30 team's rosters. make the Search feature  your best friend this Free Agent season!
