I thought I just posted this but it did not show up so here goes again.....

I am confused do to the fact that you say my Corey Perry who makes $5.3mil has to be signed to a 1 yr, 2 yr or 3 yr but not a 4 yr deal @ $5.3/yr.

But you give this example in the rules....Ex. a 9 million free agent bid can be a 3 year - $3m, 2 year - $4.5m, or a 1 year - $9m but can not be a 4 year - $2.3m

Does this only apply to FAs won? So does this mean that if I win Pominville @ $5.3 I can sign him to a 3 yr deal @ $1.8/yr?

Please see the post in the transaction hub. The limits apply to FA and extensions. It can not be a 3 year deal because the value per year is not between 3m-6.4m.

The max minor league roster is 10, so if you send someone down of course they will affect the size of your roster. So if you already have 10 players, you will have to buy someone out or place someone on re-entry waivers to make room for the player being sent down.

Just clarification as on the rules page then rosters it says on the bottom after Max roster "This is subject to change" just thought I would ask

Yes that was for the total roster size from 25 players but I don't think that will change due to salary cap level and that nobody will be able to field all 25 since the talent pool is very diverse. I will fix it later and remove the subject to change

Nope prospects are kind of in a league of their own for us so far. Once they reach 40 games played or a GM decides to call up a prospect they have to be signed to a contract.

Does this include prospects that already have a contract? Is the same rules applied to experienced players pushed into the minors when their contracts end, or do they hit the FA market?

Yes applies to all prospects under 40 games played, if they already have a contract they will be bought up with the contract. Experienced players will become free agents when their contracts end. When a prospects contract end they remain in the minors until they hit 40 games then they are signed to a contract corresponding to their draft position or extension value which ever is higher.

Is there a  waiting period for players picked up off waivers or signed as FA to make it to the team on fantrax?  I see that Bergfors (FA signing) and Peverley (picked up off waivers) have been on my team roster here for a few days but they haven't been fantraxed so I figured I'd ask.  Thanks - BOS.

  • indiansnation: Giants To Sign Blake Snell March 18th, 2024 at 8:45pm CST • By Anthony Franco 8:45pm: Snell receives a $15MM salary for the upcoming season and has a $17MM signing bonus that will not be paid until 2026, reports Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle (on X). That indicates he’ll be deciding on whether to opt out of a $30MM salary next winter, although the delayed date on the payment of the bonus reduces the team’s short-term commitment.  8:23pm: Blake Snell is in agreement with the Giants on a two-year, $62MM contract that allows him to opt out after the upcoming season, reports Jon Heyman of the New York Post (X link). San Francisco adds the defending NL Cy Young winner to the top of a staff that also includes last year’s runner-up, Logan Webb.  ADVERTISEMENT
