Title: Free Agency Talk
Post by: chrisetc21 on January 24, 2018, 08:16:16 PM
Nobody wanted LeMahieu when he was up for trade.  Now he's getting twenty MILLION dollars a year.

:o

I cannot allow those facts to get in the way of my outrage!

LeMahieu is now at 22 MILLION...Let that marinade.

Probably was going to earn that in extension so why trade for him and lose picks, specs, intl money, etc.

I don't like talking about current FAs because I don't want to influence anybody's decision (truthfully, probably couldn't if I tried :)). how did Seager get five years at 31M!!!! Being a Mariners fan and following Seager closely over his career, I am shocked he made over 22M!

I think the resign value was something like $21m.  Outrageous though.  No way I would pay him $21m for him and I didn't!   :o

The resign values are based on previous free agency prices so it makes sense they're so high.

I was hoping it would slow down by the time pitchers came around but nope.

These contracts look ugly now. I can’t imagine how bad some will look a few years from now...

I thought I could get a full staff to really bloster my chances but that backfried and Santana decided to have surgery so could really hurt me esepcially given his age as well.

Definitely some ugly contracts overall, I also don't like what I gave to Kemp, but then I saw Cespedes and Granderson and felt better lol.

If you get your money's worth, you will probably win it all!

Looking to finalize my roster for the spring.

Looking for one more semi-quality bat. Could be a bad and expiring contract up to 15-17M...could be a guy you are not high on and just want to move. Specifically looking for Corner Infielder, Outfielder, or Shortstop.

Private message me if you are interested. Prospects, Picks, and Int money are available.
