Dynasty NHL: Completed Transactions / Arizona/Tampa Bay Trade
« on: July 26, 2015, 10:33:07 PM »
:PHO: receives:

D Griffin Reinhart, $0.2m (P-n/a)

:TBL: receives:

RW Jimmy Hayes, $1.3m (2016-2017)

:PHO: confirms this deal.  Pretty simple deal here.  I like Hayes, and he had a great year, but I am selling high on him in my opinion.  And with the trade, I add a nice young piece on the blue line. Thanks Jeff for the deal!  :toast:

Dynasty NHL: Completed Transactions / Coyotes/Hurricanes Trade
« on: July 26, 2015, 12:56:16 PM »
:PHO: receives:

LW Anthony Mantha, $m (P-n/a)
LW Morgan Klimchuk, $m (P-n/a)
RW Riley Barber, $m (P-n/a)
C Andreas Athanasiou, $m (P-n/a)

:CAR-NHL: receives:

C Mikael Backlund, $3.5m (2016-2017)
C Anze Kopitar, $6.8m (2015-2016)

:PHO: confirms this deal.  I get 4 pretty nice young pieces for my continued rebuild.  Kopitar is hard to move, but he will be 28 before next season starts, and doesn't fit my team.  Backlund is a tough piece to move, but at $3.5m/year, he is a little expensive for his point output.  I'm happy with the deal overall!  Thanks Corey for the deal!  :toast:

Dynasty NHL: Completed Transactions / Arizona/Philadelphia Trade
« on: July 25, 2015, 01:46:59 PM »
:PHI-NHL: receives:

G Jaroslav Halak, $4m (2017-2018)
LW Max Pacioretty, $6.7m (2017-2018)
$4m this year

:PHO: receives:

D Carl Gunnarsson, $3.3m (2015-2016)
C Nick Cousins, $m (P-n/a)
C Nicolas Petan, $m (P-n/a)
LW Michael Dal Colle, $m (P-n/a)
RW Nikita Scherbak, $m (P-n/a)
RW Michael McCarron, $m (P-n/a)

:PHO: confirms this deal.  Well this is the start of what I hope is a successful and quick rebuild.  Pac is really hard to move, but everyone is on the block at this point.  I love the young pieces I get back, and all should help into the future.  Thanks Papps for the quick deal!  :toast:

Backyard NHL: Completed Transactions / Capitals/Blackhawks Trade
« on: July 09, 2015, 08:32:06 PM »
:CHI-NHL: receives:

Mike Fisher, $3.6m (2015-16)
Kyle Palmieri, $1.2m (2016-17)
:DAL-NHL: Round 5

:WAS-NHL: receives:

Derek Stepan, $4.8m (2015-16)
:CHI-NHL: Round 2

:WAS-NHL: confirms this deal.  When I acquired Fisher this off-season, I had zero intentions of keeping him.  He is still putting up great numbers, but a little too old for my rebuild.  Palmieri is a little tough to move, but I think his value took a big hit with his trade to the Devils.

I get a proven player in Stepan, and get him at a much better age than Fisher.  I also get the upgrade in picks.

Thanks Tony for the easy deal!  :toast:

  • Braves155: My issue in LIVE currently is having Strider/Alcantara/Giolito all on the long shelf, so I am more retooling than rebuilding
    May 05, 2024, 02:46:48 PM
  • Daddy: Also agreed. Top quality pitching probably means not much depth. A few injuries can challenge you. Pitching other than top end pitching has been devalued in fantasy. Everyone wants the stud.

  • Braves155: But I myself could use some time on a nudie island with some hot women
    May 05, 2024, 02:49:45 PM
  • Daddy: I here to tell you that ALL major league pitching is good pitching. A great hitter beats a terrible pitcher just 3 out of 10 times. Which means the worst pitchers > the greatest hitters.

  • Brent: Greg Maddux had the best outlook.  He viewed himself as tye dealer/house and you had to beat him.  Just like in the casino, the house nearly always wins.
    May 05, 2024, 04:33:51 PM
  • Brent: He had that view b/c of his father who was a blackjack dealer in Vegas.
    May 05, 2024, 04:35:28 PM
  • Daddy: Yes @Brent!! That is it exactly. Pitching is the house & it always wins in the end.

  • Daddy: There shouldn't be many innings available in FA in dynasty fantasy leagues IMO. Thats guaranteed money! To hell with High A ball.
    May 05, 2024, 05:21:23 PM
  • Daddy: Until someone starts a minor league baseball fantasy game or option. Maybe we can petition fantrax? I just dont think they will care for that.
    May 05, 2024, 05:23:07 PM
  • Daddy: Neither should we (so much). Every league i see is MLB.

  • Braves155: The problem with the minors is not the system as a whole, it is some Farm Systems are more 'elite' at being able to produce talent than others. If you look across MLB teams you can pretty easily tell the great systems from the weaker systems and talent development

  • Braves155: With regard to pitching in the Minors...there is  method to the madness. It is all about what you make of it tho. I agree that it can seem certain type arms in the minors are a dime a dozen
    May 05, 2024, 06:02:39 PM
  • Daddy: Mr Braves you are my guy. There isnt anything wrong with minor league studs or flops. I get it in REAL baseball.
    May 05, 2024, 06:20:28 PM
  • Daddy: This is fantasy baseball. We dont generate revenue selling prospects and merchandising. Our top farms dont get a write up in Sports Illustrated.
    May 05, 2024, 06:22:29 PM
  • Daddy: Load up on MLB guys, then near MLB guys, and only then is the quality of your prospects matter. Ya dig ;)
    May 05, 2024, 06:24:36 PM
  • Brent: I over value minors to a fault, but I am softening on that stance.

  • Daddy: Now either there are a lot of people copying our style or trying to learn it.. or possibly there is just that much interest by visitors. Maybe both. Either way, we got to be doing something right. The NHL LIVE season, will start with an amateur draft.
