Montreal will request the Franchise Player designation for Shea Weber when he officially joins our team.

Shea Weber, $7.0m (2015-2019) x 0.75 Franchise Player discount

Applied. Good for the remainder of 2016-17 but your Habs have the option of using the Franchise discount on other players once contracts roll over in August 2017. :judge:
