A reminder to all owners regarding Contract Extensions:

A) If you sign a player to a contract extension in-season, the contract takes effect immediately (replaces the old contract).
B) Extensions signed after the FNHL Stanley Cup Finals have ended take effect once the seasons roll-over (new contract extension starts counting toward your cap in the new season).
C) Extensions can be signed during the off-season period of the new season before the regular season starts; those extensions take effect immediately.
D) Once the regular season begins, extensions cannot be signed until the start of the 15th day of the regular season. (allows players to accrue stats in the new season to help calculate extension values)
E) Finally, remember all Goalie Extension values will increase at the conclusion of the 2014 FNHL Stanley Cup Finals (http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=90188.msg524459#msg524459) starting April 14, 2014 0h01 ET. The increase is significant!

When extending someone on a 20YY-2015 contract, do we still base the AAV on their best position finish over the past two seasons (2012-13 and 2013-14)?

Yeah! You got it right.
That is until the season starts then we have to wait out 14 days of 2014-15 stats to accumulate.
