Title: FGM GMs -- Please Read
Post by: Flash on November 01, 2016, 12:45:03 PM
This was sent out in a league-wide PM, but I thought it best to also post it here.

Our FYPD starts next Tuesday at noon. Make your selections in the 2016 FYPD Player Selections (http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=281224.0) post. The time limits are 12hrs for the 1st and Compensatory rounds and 8hrs for the remaining rounds. Participation is not mandatory and you must make room on your roster to make a selection.
For the new owners here, the rules are a bit different. If you miss your pick you will not be permitted to make them up. You will be assigned the next highest player on the 2016 BA Top 500. (http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=269186.0) If you are not going to be available you can PM your selection to Flash or me. I urge you to take advantage of this.
The complete rules are here:  Section D FYPD. (http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=239514.0)
Good Luck!

We realize a few GMs were left out of the initial PM and we sincerely apologize for that oversight but there is still plenty of time to make some preparatory moves to help your teams.  We were hoping that the initial message would motivate some of you to take a look at your MiLB rosters to make sure you have open roster spots for your draftees.  In reviewing various rosters, there are several teams which already have the maximum amount of players (20) on their MiLB rosters, some with one or two open spots, and one who has a roster violation with 22 MiLB players.

Given that our FYPD begins TODAY, please understand that the dilemma these various MiLB roster scenarios have created for Rick and me.  Given past drafts, we are always faced with awarding "auto-picks" in order to keep the draft moving.  We both understand how important draftees are to the improvement of your teams, but please understand that we cannot add a draftee to your roster that creates an MiLB roster violation. With that, in an effort to promote competitive integrity, if a given MiLB roster is filled, we will add a 1st round pick and a Compensation Round pick to your MLB rosters under the auto-pick scenario if needed, but once we get to the 2nd Round, if your MiLB roster is full, your pick will be skipped and that draft pick will be lost (because make-up picks are not allowed).

In the past we have tried to accommodate GMs by adding a draftee to a full roster, only to find that those draftees were released and should have not been awarded in the first place.  Please understand that we are not trying to be dictatorial or heavy-handed, we are simply trying to make the process as fluid as possible.  We encourage all of you to review your MiLB rosters to see if it includes players you really want.  If you wish to promote or drop any MiLB players, please post that in the Transactions section and we will take care of it.

Happy drafting!
