Looking ahead to 2015-16 what are your predictions for the Top 10 teams?
Let's hear it.
-
10. :MON-NHL: Devan Dubnyk express. Good for another round trip!
9. :NAS: Andersen, Ramo, Gibson
8. :CAR-NHL: Too active and busy to not crack to Top 10 in yr 2
7. :WAS-NHL3: Jonathan builds winners but might lack depth
6. :DET-NHL: Core is intact
5. :CHI-NHL: I usually make the Top 6
4. :COL-NHL: Pattern of cracking Top 4 his 2nd yr in leagues
3. :STL-NHL: Always a Top 3 threat!
2. :BOS-NHL: Core stays intact
1. :LAK: Almost a safe bet BUT huge extension & cap issues ahead!
-
:MON-NHL: - #1 ,,,, that is all..
-
:CLG: will be Top 10. No doubt!
-
2. :BOS-NHL: Core stays intact
Ill buy that
-
1. :FLO: where else would I put my team!
2. :STL-NHL: Stacked top to bottom
3. :DET-NHL: a few minor tweeks and theyre even scarier
4. :NAS: If he wants it he's top 4
5. :BOS-NHL: might lose a little more luster
6. :COL-NHL: able to rollout MAF or Schneider
7. :NYI: builds winners
8. :CLG: showed some big potential this yr
9. :TBL: strong core and needs some finetuning
10. :LAK: might not be able to resign key pending UFAs
of course this list will evolve this summer as trades and free agency changes the composition of rosters.

My :PHI-NHL: had a down year. I like that we are getting no love. Don't sleep on Philly!

Papps, you might have cursed your :PHI-NHL: by trading away Bob man!
You pulled a Snider man. A SNIDER!
The NHL's Philly hasn't been the same Bob got shipped off to Ohio!
-
Yeah it was a bold move trading Bob. I got tired of him missing 20 games every year with a rubber groin. If I get me a goalie, watch out! :koolaid:
-
Oh, and being told your pulling a Snider is the worst insult ever!!! LOL

Hope Eddy stops pulling his face backward. Going to have to call him Stretch Snider soon.

Come on Ed.
Tell the wife the wrinklier the raisin the sweeter the fruit! LOL

I have thought about this. Here is my thinking.
1. St.Louis Blues :STL-NHL:
They have shown consistency and the ability to acquire key players to round out their roster for the post-season.
2. Ottawa Senators :OTT:
Senators have their 203-14 Presidents' Trophy core intact and made the Final Four in 2014-15. Not a stretch.
3. Anaheim Ducks :ANA:
Ducks have a balnced roster and a knowledgeable GM. Craig Anderson will enable them to have another strong finish and Hockeyfreak47 is a Win Now manager.
4. Florida Panthers :FLO:
PR either places Top 4 or Top 15. In fact I believe there is a pattern of alternating years of high and middle of the pack finishes. Strong young goaltending will lead Florida.
5. Colorado Avalanche :COL-NHL:
SlackJack has demonstrated a knack for building winners within two years. I read that somewhere and looked into it and it is certainly true. Avs have solid goaltending heading into 2015-16 and lots of young players that might breakout.
6. Boston Bruins :BOS-NHL:
Like the NHL franchise it is very possible that the slide will be more noticeable two years removed from their championship. Maybe the FNHL version of the Bruins should consider bringing Tyler Seguin back to town?
7. Winnipeg Jets :WIN:
Johnny has kept the Jets hungry and playing deep into the play-offs since he took over the team. Jets appear to be 3-4 players away from challenging St.Louis for the Central Division title in 2015-16.
8. Carolina Hurricanes :CAR-NHL:
Has anyone notice how Favo_zomg has quietly pieced together a contending line-up that features two if not three potential starting Goaltenders? Add a ton of cap space in time for Free Agency and your have the ideal conditions for the perfect storm. Of course I was going there!
9. Chicago Blackhawks :CHI-NHL:
PPG has an aggressive approach to building his teams. He has to be to play in the same division as St.Louis and Winnipeg. They have lots of scoring up front and two veteran backstops.
10. Philadelphia Flyers :PHI-NHL:
As much as I dislike this franchise and their owner right now, I have to acknowledge their strength and highend scoring forwards. If they manage to fill their wishlist in goal they will challenge for a Top 4 finish.
What ever happened to Los Angeles Kings :LAK: ?
Not feeling particularly good with Jonathan Quick and the NHL Kings after they missed the Play-offs this year. Are they reliable? That remains to be seen at the start of 2015-16. Los Angeles is also very close to the cap ceiling which limits the team's ability to fill needs via Free Agency. Perhaps the trade route will prove to be fruitful.

Right!
I never saw you as a snake oil salesman but this sure smells like snake oil. LOL
Even if you gutted 50% of your team your Kings would be a contender.

:iatp: have to agree with PPG.

TBH I'd place :COL-NHL: squarely in the Austin Mathews hunt.
I might have a team of fantasy all-stars 3-4 years from now but until then a lot of my youth will be sucking for ice-time.
BTW MA-Fleury is OTB

Interesting how every Avs owner has said exactly the same thing. We'll soon enough.
-
By the middle of Free Agency we'll see who looks like a Top 10 team in Franchise NHL.
Lots of activity.
Lots can change before the season gets under way.
Can't wait for the season to start!!!
-
What the we looking at with FNHL free agency slowing down?
How do teams look now?
Damn my Hawks are looking alright.
-
Bruins will be top 2 again! Count on it.
-
Montreal will be in the top 10.
-
Imma not going to make any predictions on how my teams will do. However, I didnt join this league to lose.

Buffalo is surprisingly good so far.
I love the way all my goalies have been contributing regularly.
-
Montreal will be in the top 10.
-
10. :MON-NHL: Devan Dubnyk express. Good for another round trip!
I called it on April 9th.
You're late to your own party Snug. LOL
-
1. :FLO: where else would I put my team! (16-12 6th in division)
2. :STL-NHL: Stacked top to bottom (18-10 3rd in the division)
3. :DET-NHL: a few minor tweeks and theyre even scarier (26-2 2nd in FNHL)
4. :NAS: If he wants it he's top 4 (15-13 5th in division)
5. :BOS-NHL: might lose a little more luster (21-6-1 2nd in division)
6. :COL-NHL: able to rollout MAF or Schneider (21-6-1 1st in division)
7. :NYI: builds winners (7-21 )
8. :CLG: showed some big potential this yr (11-17 see above)
9. :TBL: strong core and needs some fine tuning (20-8 suck it papps)
10. :LAK: might not be able to resign key pending UFAs (Undefeated still 28-0)
"of course this list will evolve this summer as trades and free agency changes the composition of rosters."
Its a long season boys but...
Pittsburgh Penguins 20-8-0
Chicago Blackhawks 20-8-0
Montreal Canadiens 19-9-0
Winnipeg Jets 18-10-0
Anaheim Ducks 18-10-0
Washington Capitals 17-11-0
These fellas deserve some love!

PPG mightve had the best prediction last off-season!
-
4. :NAS: If he wants it he's top 4
Winter and e40 built an outstanding core. :toth:
I simply took the franchise to the next level!!!:thumbsup::taco::taco::taco:
-
I think the team that wins the Hardluck Award in 2015-16 is :CAR-NHL:
Hurricanes lost both starting goalies for long periods. Mike Smith and Bob sunk that franchise. Instead of a Top 10 finish, Carolina wrapped up the season as a Bottom 10 team.. Tough break.

Nashville had 4 capable goalies in 2015-16. That is hard to beat. Burke brought balance to the skaters up front. Well done!

NO ONE CALLED THE :PIT-NHL: PITTSBURGH PENGUINS A TOP 10 TEAM BEFORE THE SEASON STARTED.
WOW! YOU GUYS SUCK AT GUESSING! LOL
