Chicago is having an awful week. The likely outcome is an 0 for 4 finale. Let us hope that is the extent of our losing streak.

Edmonton is the darkhorse to win this season if we can call them that. They are one of the top 5 or 6 teams outscoring many teams weekly without the services of Raanta and well travelled backup Johnson.

If I got to go back and untrade my trades I wouldn’t. Arizona is a deeper tham after trading McDavid, we scored more points this season (2 seed in playoffs). Still going to need some help from AHL youth who are going for the Cup (hoping for early exits so they get the call up). Toronto made trades before the season that pushed this team further up the pecking order in the strong East. The advancement of 2 draft choices were key, If all works well today TML misses the playoffs by 2 points. As for CBJ I took this team over with 2 wins they now have 43 and threatens to sweep the final week cracking the 90+ plateau. Lots of talent in the minors looking forward to adding to that in the upcoming Drafts. Great season boys!

My Habs will face either the Pens or Flyers in Rd1. Neither team is anything close to being an easy opponent. Pens are having a big week to wrap up the regular season too.

For the 2nd year in a row ... the Stars are limping into the playoffs and can barely field a team. Our roster is more suited to be extras in a episode of Grey's Anatomy than going up against the Hawks (http://www.profsl.com/smf/Smileys/default/rotfl.gif), but we'll do the best we can. Good luck!

I saw that last night. I think that's a year old grudge and payback move by Brady for his brother Matthew who took a punch to the face March 7, 2018. Brothers will stick up for one another if they're raised properly.

BUT yeah, Tkachuk might've doomed your :NYI:

Great matchup so for, Mordecai. With Dubs going in Miami this could be the night the (http://profsl.com/smf/Smileys/default/MON-NHL.png) put some distance between the teams. If my Pens can survive tonight and at least keep it within single-digits, I've at least got a puncher's chance this weekend.

That makes a lot of sense.  But consider this, teams playing back to back games usually have a tough time the next day especially against a better team than they played the day before.

Worst lineup move of the year cost my Habs a berth in Round 2. Didnt think the Pens would start Murray in b2b games but they did because theyre fighting for a playoff berth themselves.

I feel for you, Mordecai. DeSmith was the assumed starter all day, until Sullivan announced Murray would go again about 30 minutes before the game (with no morning skate for the Pens). This was Murray's 8th straight start (a new career high) and his 2nd back-to-back in two weekends (also a career first). I would have made the same decision if I had been in your shoes, figuring DeSmith would've been the starter.

It was a great match up. Too bad one of us had to lose. I feel very fortunate, no question.

Not sure if this is the place but I would like to see a more flexible independent player game start to lock a roster versus the first game of the day. Current format really allows for Lady Luck to play more of a role than I would like to see. #Habsrule

A tough loss for :MON-NHL: Montreal.
However it is a great victory, well deserved for :PIT-NHL:. Penguins' long-term vision through the draft with Carl Grundstrom in 2016 and their brilliant Supplemental Draft selection of KHL goaltender Mikko Koskinen plus the acquisition of little known young netminder Pheonix Copley contributed to MCrow's success. :toast: Well done :PIT-NHL: Pittsburgh.

Seems the most recent update adjusted the score to
:PIT-NHL: (WC1-MET) 110.65 VS 109 :MON-NHL: (1-ATL)

A tough loss for :MON-NHL: Montreal.
However it is a great victory, well deserved for (http://profsl.com/smf/Smileys/default/PIT-NHL.png). Penguins' long-term vision through the draft with Carl Grundstrom in 2016 and their brilliant Supplemental Draft selection of KHL goaltender Mikko Koskinen plus the acquisition of little known young netminder Pheonix Copley contributed to MCrow's success. :toast: Well done (http://profsl.com/smf/Smileys/default/PIT-NHL.png) Pittsburgh.

Thanks, DD! Although in this case, I think it was better to be lucky than good.

Not sure if this is the place but I would like to see a more flexible independent player game start to lock a roster versus the first game of the day. Current format really allows for Lady Luck to play more of a role than I would like to see. #Habsrule

:soapbox: I’ve been upset with this during the regular season business mans special days and weekends

I will say I was rooting for the underdog here but tough loss not getting the right starters in

If this is possible on the site, I would second this. Even though I benefitted from it this time around, I too have had to try and read Gallant's mind this season on Saturdays and Sundays as to when MAF will or will not be starting. Usually he does, but with back-to-backs ... or doing something silly like having another kid (http://www.profsl.com/smf/Smileys/default/rotfl.gif) ... you never know.

Congrats to :PIT-NHL: Pens!
Although I made a boneheaded move switching Murray for DeSmith, the nail in my coffin was a rookie that came from out of nowhere to steal that victory from my Habs last night, LA Kings recently acquired prospect from the Jake Muzzin deal, Carl Grundstrom. He played 2 games last week and laat night scored his 2nd goal in his 2nd game during the final game of the day. Drama. If he was still with the Leafs/Marlies, he wouldn't get a sniff of NHL ice until 2020. That said, Pens are peaking at the right time. :toast::winner:

I definitely love my team and how it rolls nightly. Will be looking to keep my :MON-NHL: Habs together with just some fine tuning to get us deep in the postseason.

:CAR-NHL: Canes led from the get go. Never looked back. :NYR: Rangers had a horrible Rd1. No goaltending to speak of. Brutal given the amazing regular season we had. The better team definitely came out on top. Kuds Halo!

:iatp::iatp: I support this rule change. Considering how active the owners are in this league, this should be easily agreed to by most if not all teams IMO!

I would also support a rule change that locks rosters at the start of an individual players game instead of the first game of the day. I swapped out Varlamov with like 10 minutes to spare on Saturday, when I didn't know which, if any of my three goalies would play (even though Varly was already the first game of the day in that example, I've had it happen way more for skaters who are day-to-day or called up)

I'm against this rule change....because I only have one goalie anyway lol

I'm waiting for Snug to weigh in with the post mortem on the Habs season.
