The Pens are ripping up the following contracts and re-signing to extensions:

Jason Spezza, $7.0m (2011-2015) ... re-sign to 3 years $4.1M AAV as he finished as the 42nd ranked center last season (180 in 2012-13)

Take Marc-Andre Bourdon, $1.5m (2012-2015) off LTIR and re-sign to 2 years $0.2M AAV ... no ranking last two seasons

When extending someone on a 20YY-2015 contract, do we still base the AAV on their best position finish over the past two seasons (2012-13 and 2013-14)?

He was the 33rd ranked d-man in 2012-13.  (57th last season)
