The Pens will give an ELC to LW - Austin Wagner (2015: 4/99). Wagner played in his 80th NHL game last night (Nov 21) and has been a pleasant surprise after being drafted in the 4th round (99th overall) in 2015.

We would like to give him a 3-year deal at the league minimum of $0.6m ... Austin Wagner, $0.6m (2019-2022-EL)

The Stars are taking advantage of some new found cap space and extending a couple of young guys based on the rankings the morning of Nov 5, 2019...

Kevin Labanc, $0.7m (2018-2020) --> Kevin Labanc, $1.7m (2019-2022) ... currently ranked as the 88 RW after finishing ranked as the 64 RW in 2018-19. (His RW rankings are higher than his LW rankings.)

Jake Virtanen, $0.7m (2018-2020) --> Jake Virtanen, $1.6m (2019-2022) ... currently ranked as the 66 RW after finishing ranked as the 70 RW in 2018-19.

Keep up the consistent play, and this is money well spent.

The Stars extend Taylor Hall based on the rankings the morning of Oct 24, 2019...

Taylor Hall, $6.9m (2016-2020) --> Taylor Hall, $1.5m (2019-2022) ... currently ranked as the 68 LW after finishing ranked as the 149 LW in 2018-19.

I guess there is one advantage to having your All Star forward miss most of a season due to a knee injury.

The Pens extend the following players based on the rankings the morning of Oct 16, 2019...

Yanni Gourde, $3.4m (2017-2020) --> Yanni Gourde, $2.1m (2019-2022) ... currently ranked 97 RW, so highest rank is 54 (both LW and RW) in 2018-19

Anton Stralman, $5.5m (2016-2020) --> Anton Stralman, $1.5m (2019-2022) ... currently ranked 142 D, after finishing ranked 147 D in 2018-19. We will bump up the AAV from $1.3m to $1.5m to get the extra year, which likely will take Stralman through his last contract year with the Panthers and presumed retirement.
