Philadelphia Phillies History :PHI:

2021: 1st in NL East, (130-32)
The :PHI: continued their domination of the NL East?winning the division by 45 games.  The :PHI: advanced to the playoffs as the #3 seed and defeated the #2 seed :STL:.  In the Conference Finals, the :PHI: came up short and lost to the :SF:.  The future of the franchise is still very bright as their lineup is still filled with a lot of very productive bats.  2022 should be another good seaso for the :PHI:.

2020: 1st in East Division, (51-9)
The :PHI: got some stiff competition from the :NYY: in the East Division.  In the crazy, pandemic shortened season, the :PHI: won the East by one game and advanced to the playoffs.  Their season was upended in the first round by the :CHW: as they were defeated by the Pale Hose.

2019: 1st in NL East, (151-11)
The :PHI: coasted to another NL East title, winning the division by some 91 games.  They continued to have an easy time in the NLDS, defeating the :CHC: by a wide margin.  The NLCS saw much of the same as the :PHI: thrashed the :MIL: to advance to the World Series.  In the World Series, the :PHI: quest to become  a back-to-back champion was thwarted by the :LAA:, as the :LAA: capped their two week battle in convincing fashion to defeat the :PHI:.

2018: 1st in NL East, (142-20)
The rebuild was completed during the 2018 season, as the :PHI: hoisted the Championship  :win: by defeating the :TB: in the World Series.  After rolling through the NL East and winning by 56 games, the :PHI: had a competitive NLDS.  THE :PHI: outlasted the :SD: and advanced to the NLCS.  In the Conference Finals, the :PHI: overwhelmed the :COL: and did pretty much the same to the :TB: in the World Series. 

2017: 1st in NL East, (133-29)

2016: 1st in NL East, (125-33)

2015: 1st in NL East, (63-28)

2014: 5th in NL East, (34-107)

2013: 1st in NL East, (88-53)

2012: 2nd in NL East, Wildcard (90-72)
Like the real-life Phillies, the consecutive division titles that Philadelphia had in FGM evaporated in 2012 as the Nationals took over the division lead.  Unlike the real-life Phillies, this Philly team officially made the playoffs and won 90 games.  They were one of the two wildcard teams but lost to Houston in the one-game playoff.  The rumor headed into that off-season was that the GM would pursue retaining Ryan Howard once again.

2011: NL East Champs (111-51)
Philadelphia led the NL and MLB for much of the year and finished with an outstanding record.  Their pitching staff was led by the real-life Phillis rotation of Lee, Halladay, and Hames.  Jose Reyes' stellar year combined with three other all-star selections in Zobrist, Konerko, and Victorino allowed the Phils to be so dominant.  Unfortunately, their dominance stopped in the playoffs when they met the NL Central powerhouse Milwaukee Brewers.

2010: NL East Champs (93-69)
The Phils started by adding depth in signing Garrett Atkins.  By far the biggest move was tossing $90m at reigning AL Cy Young winner Justin Verlander.  A youth movement with the Phillies pitching, and a new deal for Joe Blanton strengthened the team's chance to make it to their third straight World Series.  The Phillies, as usual, were one of the best teams going down the stretch.  They won the NL East and made it to the NLCS before losing to the Dodgers.  Steph retired and longtime Phils fan, Chris took over as GM at the end of the season.

2009: NL Pennant and East Champs (101-61)
The Phillies made their 2nd World Series in a row by hitting hard.  Their team lost to the Yankees just like in reality because the pitching stunk.  The GM vowed to correct that by next season.
