Brad Boxburger $2.8m (2018)

O's make this deal all about flexibility. To move three multi year deals on guys I wasn't viewing as long terms assets to get Zobrist on a one year deal gives me flexibility for this year and beyond. Rays to confirm, thanks the easy negotiation

Harrison Musgrave (prospect)

Braves get two good prospects which is all we're looking for. Wacha was on a cheap deal but his uncertainty and seemingly likely move to the pen decreased our desire to hold onto him. Reds to confirm

I'm unsure of where Mancini fits with the Orioles in their lineup and I get a catcher for the future and arm with high upside. Royals to confirm

Brandon Crawford $6.0 2017

Nats get:
Paul Clemens $440,00 and 4 ARB years
Jake Diekman $1.255 and 2 ARB years

Bats are hard to come by and if these other leagues have shown me anything its FA prices are nuts especially when it comes to getting bats. Crawford is still young and not priced outrageously for his production. I'm giving up some guys with control but it's depth I can afford. Thanks for the negotiations. Washington to confirm

After some intense negotiations the Tigers and Cardinals have reached an agreement.

Cardinals get:
Clayton Kershaw 17m (2017)
9M pd in 2017
Billy Hamilton .5m (p-2017)
JJ Hardy 4.5m (2018)
Jose Alvarez .5m (p-2018)
Alex Blandino .5m (p-n/a)

Tigers get:
Marcus Stroman 4m (2021)
Mark Trumbo 4m (2019)
Mark Melancon 3m (2017)
Hector Neris .5m (p-2018)
Bobby Bradley .5m (p-n/a)

This is pretty easy from the Tigers side. Kershaw was a luxury that did us no good. On an expiring deal at $17m, this team doesn't have the pieces or cap room to be serious contenders this year as currently constructed. We ate some money to maximize the return and we got multiple useful pieces for years to come. It's never an easy decision to move the best pitcher in baseball but in this case it was a necessary one for this team to take a step in the right direction. Thanks to the Cardinals for working through the discussions
