There was some slight confusion about the (poorly written) rule for roster moves in playoffs.
Currently the rule says that before a new round starts (before playoffs start / between playoff rounds):
You can only swap a player from your Active roster to Inactive roster if he is injured. If you send him down, he can't be recalled until the end of that week/round.
You are also able to send a player down mid-round IF and only if he is injured. Again, he can't be re-called until the end of that round.
The rule change we are putting out there would be this:
ANY player can be swapped from your Active roster to Inactive roster between rounds, and it doesn't matter if he is injured.
This would alleviate some of the confusion that happened pre-playoffs where teams had to call up their injured players to have them on their "playoff roster" and then right away send them back down to the inactive roster because they were still injured... And then the players called up for them are the only ones that can be sent back down once that injured player is healthy again. (You can only do same player for same player swap).
While yes, this does allow teams to hold extra players on their Inactive rosters and use them for match-ups versus certain teams, it is more a change to remove the confusion of who is swapped for who.
As well as the confusion for pre-playoff moves... If say a Kevin Durant has been injured for a couple weeks before playoffs and a team had put him on the Inactive roster as a result, but he is scheduled to be healthy for the start of playoffs.
In our current structure, if the team doesn't call him up before round 1 and then send him back down to Inactive swapping for another player, Durant wouldn't be eligible all playoffs. Kind of a silly technicality.
