Title: 2012 FGM All-star Teams
Post by: Colby on July 10, 2012, 02:57:52 PM
Using the same roster size and picking at least one player from each team, using fantasy points a metric, here are the FGM all-stars for 2012!

National League
In the NL, Houston led the league with 6 all-star selections (two in the bullpen).  This is a good example of how this team has been productive.  They have consistent, but not flashy, producers throughout the roster.  For instance, Jed Lowrie and Michael Bourn aren't big names but they have been big producers.  The old guard of Philly, Milwaukee, and Los Angeles have their representatives.  San Diego and Arizona are really the only teams who had to push its all-star ahead of others to get in and that was just a bullpen slot.

American League
The Yankees led with six selections followed by the A's with five.  Both are in the hunt for their divisional races.  Baltimore actually had two deserving all-stars.  All teams deserved at least one all-star.  Not even Stammen was a stretch, he was the third best true reliever in the AL.  AL East leading Boston had only two all-stars with Fowler barely making the team.

They were close especially CJ but more bench spots go to offense.
