Title: Innings pitched will now be monitored - all members must read
Post by: Dan Wood on May 29, 2012, 11:18:06 AM
Since the league moved to a 65 innings pitched limit this offseason, it has become clear that there is a loophole in the scoring system. In order to rectify the situation the RC has taken the following steps.

1. Howe and Corey will be monitoring the final weekly tallies for IP.
2. 1st and 2nd offense for crossing the 65 IP threshold will result in a loss of any pitching points over 65 innings pitched.
3. Third offense results in a loss of points over 65, and an additional 100 points for the week.
4. Fourth offense and beyond will result in a loss of ALL pitching scoring for the scoring period.

Will the infractions be posted publicly?

Sure, and feel free to report them (looks like :OAK: and :BOS: at least for this week)

I believe that the Dodgers had 74 IP.

I have only spot-checked a few teams that I know have large pitching staffs since Dan said that you and Corey would be monitoring the teams.

The Yanks had 66 IP and the Cards had 72 IP.  That makes a total of 5 teams that went over the limit.

If you go to the league in fantrax and click on the live scoring you can see how many innings each team pitched for different scoring periods.  If you select Period 10, click on All Teams at the top.  All the teams should show up with lineup and pitching stats for Period 10.  Click on the IP at the top of the pitching stats and it will sort all teams by the amount of IP for period 10.  Oakland with 76 1/3 Innings and Boston with 66 Innings are the two teams who broke the rule for Period 10.

You're right.  I had the criteria set for 'MLB' rather than 'Fantasy Team' so we can remove the other 3 teams from the list.  My bad.

Howe start a board on the main page, and sticky it please...list any teams that go over...each team that went over this past week, now have only one more shot before receiving any form of retribution

Question:

Does the number of violations start over at the start of the new season or does the current number carry over into the next year?

Clean slate at the beginning of the season...we could also discuss a rule change to effect a start limit which would make the IP limit null and void
