Title: FYPD Chatter
Post by: BHows on September 16, 2013, 09:35:43 PM
Is anyone else as happy with how the draft has turned out for them as I am?
Considering where I picked I'm thrilled with what I've been able to accomplish. With the exception of one player, BRENT, every player I wanted has fallen to me.
Two picks left, can't wait!

I'm pretty bummed that the guy I wanted was picked right before my turn!

On a side note, Bob is doing a FANTASTIC job running the draft!!!  :toth:

I'm happy with the players I've drafted, but was hoping to snag a particular player with my 2nd pick and I watched him fall pick after pick--then the Brewers spoiled the party and picked him right before my turn.

The draft has been going pretty smoothly :toth:

Yeah I was hoping Jagielo somehow, someway would fall to me but I knew better. Littrell was a good bargain at #2. I saw him pitch in person a few times. Looks like the real deal!

I must be doing something right then.  I am just trying to upgrade the overall talent level of the Angels.  They needed a complete rebuild which I am obviously in the middle of.  Now when trades open back up, I need to turn hopefully Chris Davis and David Price into lots of nice young pieces.

I do like how my draft has gone so far fairly well. There has been some good values so far in FGM. There are still plenty of leagues with their amateur drafts that will take place eventually. It will be interesting to see where the players fall in other places.

From where I picked, I a very happy to this point, McMahon was one of the top performing draft picks once they hit the field. O'Neil and Caratini both showed very well.  Tellez and Longhi are great boom or bust guys, perfect for EDR. Still 4 or 5 more I hope to land.

I am not educated enough on prospects to draft myself, so the BA rankings and my guidance with how to auto-pick players works.  What I am stoked about is how many picks my team had in the top 100.  Go Buccos! :PIT:

The Pirates just finished the first of three rebuilding years and will have top selections again next year.  I like where this team is headed.

With just coming into the league, inheriting the worst team in :WAS:, I am pleased with adding some good quality thru the draft.  With 7 picks form the middle to end of the first round, I added 5 pretty good pitchers in Chris Anderson, Sean Manaea, Tom Windle, Dillon Overton and Blake Taylor.  Adding another quality arm in Ben Lively in the 2nd round also helps to begin building a pretty decent pitching staff for the future.

Additionally, adding another OF and MI helps my depth in position players as well.

My rebuilding has begun.

Looking forward to watching my team move up the standing in the years to come.
