2022 Free Agency where 26 teams gave out $2.3B ($2,333,022,100) in guaranteed contracts and extensions this offseason. PC bonuses not included (No easy way to account these currently). This is the first offseason we've been able to track individual team spending accurately. A breakdown below:

 :HOU:     $ -
 :SEA:     $ -
 :CLE:     $ -
 :MIA:     $ -

Surprisingly :BAL: ($ 218,000,000) is the biggest spender this offseason with :STL: ($ 198,220,000) a close second. The average amount spent per team this year is $78M ($77,767,403) with :HOU: :SEA: :CLE: :MIA: all deciding to sit this offseason out. Probably unsurprisingly, the largest contract of the offseason came from :BAL: who signed All-Star 2B Ketel Marte to a 5 yr/ 130M contract.

In terms of league health the $2.3B spent this offseason is a substantial increase from last offseason where teams coming out of the pandemic shortened season only gave out $600M ($634,120,500) in guaranteed contracts. However, we still are well short of pre-pandemic spending of  $3.5B ($3,573,543,250) prior to the 2019 season and 3.1B ($3,087,800,000) prior to the 2018 season.
