Peter Mueller -  11-12 rated 138/C or 118/lw.  Highest is center at .9 million ,   Extended for 2 years.

Martin Brodeur 10/11 - ranked 27  ,  11/12 ranked 23   --- 2.7 million for 1 year.

Are you intending to make these extensions in the current season or in the offseason?  The 1 year extension on Brodeur would take effect for 11/12 if you make the extension in-season.  Which means it makes no sense, lol.

If you're making extensions that are intended for the offseason please wait until the offseason.  Since these players' ranks could change in the meantime.

sorry it was meant for the offseason ,  saw LA's post and got me all riled up. 

I didnt think we could extend mid season if it meant their salary would go down? which would be the case for both of these players.

Right, I forgot about that too.  If you were to extend mid-season the new contract must be no less than and no shorter than the current deal.  I'll move this for now, just re-post once the NHL regular season is over.
