Title: Blue Jays/Orioles trade
Post by: RyanJames5 on August 18, 2019, 03:07:33 PM
:BAL: receives:
MI/CI Kevin Smith .5(p-n/a)
C Riley Adams .5(p-n/a)
SP Adam Kloffenstein .5(p-n/a)

:TOR: receives
CI Ty France .5(p-n/a)

:BAL: makes this trade to grab some more depth and upside at the minor league level. Smith has shown a ton of upside, but appears to be blocked and has struggled this year, so I’m hoping I bought a bit low. Adams has been known as a defense first backstop, but has shown the bat may be good enough to be a starter and hes not too far off either and I love the upside of Kloffenstein, even if he’s a few years away. France has been unreal in AAA, but may struggle to find playing time with the loaded Sam Diego infield, so it’s a worthwhile swap for me. Thanks Vik and good luck!

Accept. France had an absurd minor season so hoping it translates into long term success in bigs and I need CI way more than MI though still like Smith's upside. France might not have a clear cut path to everday playing time when everyone is healthy but it sounds like they want to play him at 2nd rest of this season so opportunity is there to become a mainstay next year it he produces. Didnt want to move Kloffenstein but that was the price and he is several years away so better suited for O's anyway.
