Extensions, I am looking to extend crosby and staal,

so I have to look at previous 2 seasons (10-11 & 11-12) and this current (12-13) on for their ranking (before trade deadline)  and reisgn?

Good question.  Due to the lockout there's no all-star game to use for our extension rule.   For this season I will amend the rule to read as follows:

Contract extensions are based on looking up the player's highest ranking by position in both the current season and the last season. If an extension is done during the season and before February 18th 2013, then the previous TWO seasons and the current season must be looked at. In the off-season, the last two seasons will be used.  If a player has multiple positions, the contract must be equal to, or greater than, the higher salary of the positions.

Any extensions done before 2/18/13 use 10/11, 11/12 and 12/13 for ranking.
Any extensions done after 2/18/13 use 11/12 and 12/13 for ranking.

Yes, other than new FA bids you can make all other transactions; buyouts, callups, etc.

After the playoffs we'll rollover to the new year, 13/14.

No, they have 1 more year.  Any P-2013 contracts are actually 2013/2014 contracts, I just have no way to indicate that on my spreadsheet.
