Title: TOP 10 FNHL TEAMS (Dec7,2016)
Post by: PsychoticPondGoons on December 07, 2016, 03:18:41 PM
The 2016-17 FNHL season is a long one with 88 regular season games to decide post-season contenders! A few changes in the past 3 weeks. :DAL-NHL: & :COL-NHL: slip out of the Top 10 while :NYR: and :STL-NHL: slot in.

1. :FLO: PANTHERS 29-3   HOLDING GROUND
Carey Price does all the heavy lifting. Mrazek better than a backup. Stalberg surprise scoring threat past month. Delete Peetr Budaj & David Savard. ADD Top RW Kucherov to lead attack.

2. :CHI-NHL: BLACKHAWKS 27-5   HOLDING GROUND
Subtract Cam Ward, add Holtby. Jamie Benn, MacKinnon potting points nightly, while Andrew Shaw picking up slack from Mark Scheifele going down. Subtract Backlund, Elias Lindholm, Evander Kane, Ca Ward. ADD Holtby.

3. :LAK: KINGS 25-7   SURGING UP
Luongo offers enough in net, now joined by Budaj. Tarasenko & Saad scoring at will.
Kucherov exits LA.

3. :NAS: PREDATORS 25-7   CREEPING UP
Freddy Andersen & Gibson tandem still on their game. Eberle, Cam Atkinson, Burrows (really?), Josi do bulk of scoring. Subtract Lucic, Kopitar, Ramo. ADD JT Miller & Frolik, downgrade or upgrade?

3. :BOS-NHL: BRUINS 25-7   CREEPING UP
Rask & Talbot remain backbone of franchise, Speedster Pastrnak, MDZ & Krug keeps Bruins Top 3.

3. :DET-NHL: REDWINGS 25-7   HOLDING GROUND
Jake Allen doing most of the work. Rookie Mantha and vets Cammalleri, Sam Gagner? (really) popping points for Wings.

7. :PIT-NHL: PENGUINS 24-8   HOLDING GROUND
Sid the Kid leads up front. What a surprise. Greiss and MAF posting points regularly.

7. :TBL: LIGTHNING 24-8    SLIPPING SLIGHTLY
Rasmus Ristolainen tasked with leading scoring for now. Bishop & Niemi still doing what they do best in goal for the Bolts. Injuries to Stamkos & Abdelkader hurting club. Subtract Johnny Hockey (Gaudreau), Goligoski. ADD Aho.

9. :NYR: RANGERS 22-10    SURGING UP
Rookie Patrik Laine leads this team's production. Veterans Nash and Kesler offer support. Double trouble in net with Martin Jones and backup Vasilevskiy. ADD Derek Forbort to boost efforts? Fine tuning?

9. :STL-NHL: BLUES 22-10    SURGING UP
Jaden Schwartz has been carrying the team of late. Backes, Silverberg, Patrick Kane deliver regularly. 2 Headed monster in net with Mike Smith & Rinne. Subtract Getzlaf & Draisaitl. Add Emelin, Beleskey & Mike Smith.

NICE post PPG!
I like that you tracked the key recent moves bybthese teams.

NYR have been coming on.
Keep an eye on Pens because they are silent but deadly.
Bruins and Wings constantly a threat and within striking range of #1 over.

The 88 game schedule sure does make it challening to sneak a lucky win several wks of a 22 wk sched.

:TBL: has injuries and still sit 1 game from the 3rd best record in the league.

Who wouldn't like to have their best player, that said, we love the challenge of trying to stay relevant even without Stammer. Going to see what my young Bolts are made of until the franchise player returns next year.

Man, you're so damn right.
Only 1 game separates your Bolts from 3rd overall. AND you're missing Steven Stamkos! Imagine the damage you'd be inflicting weekly with Stammer!?!??!

My cats lost Price practically all of last yr so ask me if I feel for Tampa.

Injuries make managing a team in any sport interesting.

"Stalberg surprise scoring threat past month."

Ha, and almost all them came against King Henrik, another swede and former teammate.

Teams like Florida and Boston hold the most staying power with 2 high end G's.  2 teams to watch out for are the Blues and long term is clearly the Rangers.

My Rangers lucked out on Laine with the 2nd Overall Pick.
He's Selanne 2.0! Super rare player. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

The Pens don't like to see the Rangers trending up ... in either the FNHL or the NHL  Haha

Nice job, Burke!  Going to be a fun race for the Metro ...
