:BUF-NHL: trades C Casey Mittelstadt, $0.5m (P-20/21)
for :NYR: RW Vitali Kravtsov, $m (P-n/a)
First trade with the new :NYR: manager.
I am trading Mittlestadt because I don't like to have 2 centers from the same team. Hoping that Kravtsov make the team this year. If not I am willing to wait for him as he will become a star.
Thanks :NYR: for the quick deal. Nobody is losing with this trade.
Pls confirms

I see Kravtsov as the superior prospect here. Would like to hear Cliff's take on Mittelstadt.

Gotta agree with this 1000%

Have to say it's a peeve of mine to see comments from other GM's before the principals both weigh in.

:NYR: confirm the trade. I like Middelstadt alot and will help my team this year. As for the future, I will not bank on a player who is still playing in Russia and may never get to the USA.
...as for other GM, wait and see is not my game.

He's playing in the USA right now as I type this, and will this season...

I don't know, for possibly an interim GM, not thinking about the future of the franchise scares me.
That, and I don't see Middelstadt and his 1.18 pts/game "helping" NYR this season, on a current roster already stacked with C eligible players.

Middelstatd was No 1 in Hockey News Future Watch in 2018. It was only his 1st full NHL year last year. There still place to improve. Only 20 year old. Give him a chance. They are not all Connor McDavid.
Many players have a disappointing fisrt year. His 2nd full year and future years should normally improve over the time. I still think that nobody is losing with this trade.
Not sure that Kratvsov will make it next year based on Fantrax Review
Kravtsov spent the 2018-19 campaign in his native Russia skating for Traktor Chelyabinsk of the KHL, notching eight goals and 21 points in 50 games. The 2018 first-round pick will likely need some time to adapt to the North American brand of hockey, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him start the 2019-20 season in the minors.

:iatp: I like Middelstadt a lot too.

I only like to veto if I feel like the trade is so lopsided that it effects league balance. Middelstadt is Young and still has a ton of upside.
