-The Gordie Howe Award (most active on the board) :CAR-NHL:

GDB continues to crank out his always entertaining write-ups -- he has my vote.

-The Ken Holland Award (most outstanding GM)  :STL-NHL:

Shooter's roster is the one I envy most.  He's built a monster and I don't think it's going away any time soon.  My thoughts are similar to Rob's ... in a perverse way it's like Shooter has to out-do the high expectations created by his own consistent excellence in order to get the award(s) his performance already earned.

-The Wayne Gretzky Award (team w/ best centers) :PHI-NHL:

Anaheim is in the conversation, but I can't look past a Flyers group of Malkin, Stamkos, Couture and Pavelski.

-The Brendan Shanahan Award (team w/ best left wings) :COL-NHL:

I really struggle with the one.  It's tough to not hand it to the Oilers for Hall and Giroux, but Snug's depth is throwing a lot of quality Games Played at you ... I'll go with depth over top-end stars here.

-The Jaromir Jagr Award (team w/ best right wings) :STL-NHL:

Tarasenko, Zucker and Voracek win it for the Blues.  The Canucks, Avs and Oilers are in the conversation.

-The Bobby Orr Award (team w/ best defensemen) :CAR-NHL:

Carolina's top six edge out the Blues' group.

-The Dominik Hasek Award (team w/ best goalies)  :STL-NHL:

If my guys could stay healthy, I might have voted for myself, but it's not to be.  I like the Blues' set of 3 over the Oilers' pair.

-The Bad Juju Award (most unluckiest team)  :WAS-NHL:

With any kind of match-up luck the Caps points-for total would have put them in the playoffs, not in 13th with a .500 record.

As it is now, tanking is not expressly against the rules. Nor for that matter is inactivity. Which then is the greater impropriety? The actions of a GM that works day in and day out to improve his team and raise the over-all level of competition? Or those of the absentee landlords that let their franchise flounder and fail to engage with the league in any meaningful way?

To be fair, every league on here will have inactive owners who fail to check in and then get replaced. It's the reality of free fantasy leagues. Happens everywhere, not just this site.

A good tanking job is good for the league.  The latter "absentee" GM's are the reason we need competent re-builders.  And the rules should be shaped to benefit these teams to put them back on the competitive map and ensure league balance.

Solid points, and I’d rather see an active GM tank, versus a team who doesn’t set their lines but has solid players get a higher draft pick as a result.
AZ needs the most help I think out of most franchises. If NYR was more proactive trading, that roster could be good.

If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it did it make a sound?

If I vote bad juju to a team/GM that wont even be around to hear me trash on them , did I really trash them?

-The Gordie Howe Award (most active on the board) :VAN: - Can't turn the corner without seeing his name somewhere. I should doc him points for changing his name, but I'll let that one slide.

-The Ken Holland Award (most outstanding GM) :STL-NHL: Hard to argue with that.

-The Wayne Gretzky Award (team w/ best centers) - :PHI-NHL:

-The Brendan Shanahan Award (team w/ best left wings) - :COL-NHL:

-The Jaromir Jagr Award (team w/ best right wings) - :STL-NHL:

-The Bobby Orr Award (team w/ best defensemen) - :CAR-NHL:

-The Dominik Hasek Award (team w/ best goalies) - :WIN:

-The Bad Juju Award (most unluckiest team) - :WAS-NHL:

-The Gordie Howe Award (most active on the board): My vote goes to :PHO: with :CAR-NHL: in 2nd place

-The Ken Holland Award (most outstanding GM) - :WIN: for most wins

-The Wayne Gretzky Award (team w/ best centers)  :PHI-NHL:

-The Brendan Shanahan Award (team w/ best left wings) :EDM:

-The Jaromir Jagr Award (team w/ best right wings) :STL-NHL:

-The Bobby Orr Award (team w/ best defensemen) :STL-NHL:

-The Dominik Hasek Award (team w/ best goalies):EDM:

-The Bad Juju Award (most unluckiest team) :WIN:. Even if they won the season their 2 top goalies (Murray/Price) were injured for many games. With them in the line-up they would probably have won with a league record in wins. :STL-NHL: could also be considered as unluckiest as they have the most FTPs but they finished 2nd. (and they are losing in the first round - however this does not count for the award  :judge:)

The idea is you build your team with a salary of XXX and then every 2-3 seasons you have decisions to make. Field a 26 man roster, control your own pitching rotation, pen, lineup & bench like the true MLB. Draft every season where there's a lot of turnover. Interesting for sure.

  • indiansnation: NFL Report: Commanders' rookie QB Jayden Daniels may soon be banned from the NFL Jayden Daniels, the 2nd overall pick in the 2024 Draft, has made a huge mistake that could get him banned from the NFL even before making his debut with the Washington Commanders.  NFL News: Commanders' president unveils team's plans for name change NFL News: Magic Johnson makes his first big decision as co-owner of the Commanders Updated on May 10, 2024 10:51AM EDT  Jayden Daniels was selected by the Washington Commanders in the 2024 NFL Draft ? Julio Aguilar/Getty ImagesJayden Daniels was selected by the Washington Commanders in the 2024 NFL Draft By Fernando Franco Puga  The Washington Commanders have received some very bad news. Jayden Daniels, who they picked with the 2nd overall pick in the 2024 Draft, may soon be banned from the NFL after violating a very important rule.   In the 2024 NFL Draft, several teams were in need of a top quarterback to bolster their offenses. With the 2nd overall pick, the Commanders decided to select Jayden Daniels, one of the best prospects at the position.  Daniels had a remarkable path through LSU, even breaking some of Joe Burrow’s records. However, the quarterback’s career is now in jeopardy after he admitted to breaking the league’s rules regarding gambling.   Jayden Daniels openly admits to violating the NFL’s gambling policy Worrying news has arrived in Washington today. Jayden Daniels, their 1st-round pick this year, has openly admitted to violating the NFL’s gambling policy, and his rookie season is in jeopardy.  NFL Draft: Jayden Daniels admits whether he'd like to play for the Washington Commanders SEE ALSO  NFL Draft: Jayden Daniels admits whether he'd like to play for the Washington Commanders  During a recent appearance on the “All Facts, No Brakes” podcast, Daniels revealed that he has a bet with Malik Nabers, the New York Giants‘ 6th overall pick, on who’s going to be this year’s NFL Offensive rookie.   “Man, he wasn’t supposed to tell nobody,” Daniels said about Nabers revealing the bet. “We got a little something going on. I mean, he put it out there, so it’s like I can’t say he cap.”  Keyshawn Johnson, host of the podcast, asked Daniels about the bet. The quarterback admitted that the wager for $10,000 is real, but he was clearly uncomfortable with the question.    Jayden Daniels Jayden Daniels with LSU “Going against him is gonna be fun,” Nabers said, via the New York Daily News. “We got a bet going for Rookie of the Year. Whoever loses gotta pay, I think it’s $10,000 cash.”  Nabers and Daniels were teammates at LSU. They are set to meet in at least two games in the upcoming season. However, this gamble could get them both banned from the NFL, as they are clearly violating the league’s gambling policy.  What does the NFL gambling policy says about betting? This situation will pose a huge challenge for the Commanders and the Giants. The league strictly prohibits players from engaging in any form of gambling related to the NFL, as it undermines the integrity of the game.  SEE ALSO  2024 NFL Draft picks by team: How many picks does each team have?  The policy explicitly prohibits ‘private wagers between teammates, family and friends, or others.’ This situation could land the two rookies in trouble, potentially resulting in a ban for the former LSU players.  SURVEY Should Jayden Daniels and Malik Nabers be banned over their bet?  Yes No ALREADY VOTED 1162 PEOPLE  Fernando Franco Puga Fernando Franco is an accomplished writer and sports journalist specializing in soccer, NFL, MLB, and MMA.
