Habs and the Golden Knights agree to a deal. Vegas asked about the services of playoff goat Casey DeSmith and Anders Nilsson so we hammered out a deal to make it happen. ALL4U2NV to confirm. Good luck to VGK.
Going to VGK
Anders Nilsson, $5.2m (2018-2021)
G - Casey DeSmith (
SDP
2018: UNDRAFTED - 48 Games)
RW - Zack Mitchell (
SDP
2018: UNDRAFTED - 34 Games)
SDP
Round 1 - 2019 (
)
D - Carl Dahlstrom (2013: 2/51 - 43 Games)
Note: We are replacing the SDP Rd1 pick with prospect Dahlstrom as we have already dealt it to NYR in a prior trade.
Coming to MTL
G - Mackenzie Blackwood (2015: 2/42 - 0 Games)
Round 1 - 2019 (
)

VEGAS ACCEPTS.
We get 2 goalies and 2 prospects for our farm system. Nilsson could become a number 1 in Ottawa or elsewhere. DeSmith will get starts behind an often injured Murray. I love adding goalies. Thanks for the deal Mordecai.

We maintain our agreement to this deal. Dahlstrom is better than a SDP because he is NHL ready with 43 games played.

I require from my teams, proper levels of anger, belligerence and some good ol' fashion piss 'n' vinegar.

A well-conditioned team wins in the first ten minutes, maybe less. The opponent is destroyed not just on the scoreboard but their will is broken when an opponent comes out hard and fast.

Damn straight. No better time than the present to start the championship run in 2019-20.

Although Blackwood could turn into a very good starter one day, Vegas is getting a fine package of valuable goalies and players that can help. I think Nilsson will be a timeshare starter next season. I also think it was a mistake for Montreal to deal away their handcuff to Matthew Murray.

They trade, about as often as real teams do. For people that love year round trading, being in one league, one sport, its going to be difficult.

And that's why I haven't traded Carr yet. Someone doesn't have a QB or thinks they'll get one in FA/draft and might be left wanting.

@jwalker I make like 2-3 trades a year for each of my baseball teams, maybe. I'll tell you part of the reason I don't trade. Every trade discussion starts out with the other team wanting my top prospect regardless of what I am trading for. I am not trading Jackson Holliday for your backup catcher who is going to play 20 games this year.

Football is just harder. You can build a team and 3 years later its irrelevant due to injury, retirement, roster turnover.

Agreed. I think the Devers deal in FGM is a good example of that. Devers gives SD some now (and future) pop, giving up substantial pieces to get him (Mayo, Keith, and one other).

Agreed. I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ. I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.

That is probably even more true in baseball since your drafts don't payoff for 5 years or so. And I will admit my conservatism may be the reason I only have one championship here at ProFSL

I'm contemplating doing a complete tear down in NFL Live and rebuild. Honestly, I probably should have postered for it to be this season. I still might, but I would legit need to go into the draft with 3-4 top 10 picks/+ many others.

Yea nailing drafts and some key FAs helps too. But if you remember BAB you traded alvin kamara for the rams 1-7 draft picks. So the extra picks helped you nail the 2023 draft the way you did

Thank you. Yes, I agree. I do need to break one asset down to 3. I did that with JJ, went from S tier to 2 A tiers. Now I need to potentially go from an A tier to 3 Bs or something like that. I've had some inquiries on Carr, but nothing worth moving him.
