Title: Open Teams for 2021
Post by: Flash on August 31, 2020, 07:08:27 PM
The following teams are in need of replacement GMs:

1:  Atlanta Braves - AL East

2:  Arizona D-Backs - NL West (Billy)

3:  Chicago Cubs - NL Central

4:  Seattle Mariners - AL West

Maybe it’s time to discuss contraction with the players on these teams being dispersed in a 2 or 3 round Contraction Draft.  I’m not sure where we will find the 4 new GMs we need to maintain 30 teams.

Thoughts?

I think 30 team leagues are going to be hard to maintain going forward.

Agreed on contraction.

I disagree.  I guided Bush league through the darkest period this site has ever seen.  I don't think four teams for the flagship league on this site should be difficult.

I have to admit, four open teams isn’t insurmountable, and I would prefer to maintain our 30 team league...but maybe everyone could help by doing a little recruiting.  We have a great league, but the revolving door of GMs is wearing me out.  Rick and I navigated the league back to full strength after the DynastysportsHQ debacle, so it’s not impossible, but it is a bit discouraging.

I’d suggest going the re-draft route

Seems like this site in general is lacking in new Gm’s and I can’t see COVID helping recruit new/more members

But if we/you can keep it at 30 that would be fantastic

I'd prefer not to contract as the league mirors the MLB, but as Flash says it gets exhausting replacing the same couple of owners. Unfortunately until a lot of the bugs get fixed and the site gets updated (ex. email notifications), it'll be almost impossible to get new members to stay.

I definitely prefer to have a 30 team league.  I know recruiting is tough but I'd like to see if we can make it work first before contracting.

Rick and I navigated the league back to full strength after the DynastysportsHQ debacle ...

Did anyone happen to notice when dynastysportshq.com finally died?

To this day, I'm still annoyed about the waste of time and theft of entry fees that was.

Dynasty sports he is still in operation, except Corey is long gone.  He made of with thousands of $, but it’s still going.  He took $50 of mine when he left ProFSL.

The website isn't working? Did it move?

Yes it moved. Corey disappeared a long time ago as per usual and site subscription or whatever it is ran out and stopped working so some of the leagues went to a new site created by another one of the members of site.

Hey Billy, are you back on Profsl for good?  Or just visiting?  Would love to have you back in the leagues.

I'm still over there in a couple leagues but want to get back into the free leagues. Pretty much everyone there for some reason prefers money leagues. Most of them just followed Corey blindly over there and he left a lot hanging there like he did here.

I'm taking over the D-Backs team. Will be a long rebuild.
