Title: VETO TRADE - Colorado Tampa Bay Trade
Post by: AntMan on August 17, 2018, 11:02:56 PM
Colorado sending:

Christian Djoos, $3.9m (2017-2020)

Tamp Bay sending:

Round 1 - 2018  (from :COL-NHL:*; originally :DAL-NHL:)
Round 4 - 2018  (from :LAK:*)

Lightning management to confirm

Colorado might be overly excited for the draft to the detriment of this team. We really like Djoos upside.

Tampa agrees i need a d man on my tampa team and i feel djoos can help me know instead of waiting a few yrs down the rd for the picks. With this fa players going high priced and the only 2 i want already at high price i feel this us worth it.

Djoos for a 1st - 17th overall. :puke::veto:

My reason, Djoos is like 7th on the Caps depth chart behind the likes of even Brooks Orpik and Madison Bowey. Washington Top 4 are Carlson, Niskanen, Orlov, Kempy.

This deal makes FNHL look bad.

I think the pick will be of similar value only years behind with more risk. I appreciate your willingness to voice an opinion.

Djoos was in consideration for Kempy’s role last season and Bowey is no certainty to be on the third pairing. I’m ok keeping the Djoos here...

I don't necessarily like the trade for Tampa, but look at this weak FA market for D. I think Djoos is a top 6 d-man with upside still. This is a trade of now for the future, a guy taken at #17 is likely 2-3 years away at least.

:veto: a 1st rounder in a strong draft yr is still worth more than a depth dman making 4 bills.

Just curious how you would restructure the trade given the market for D and Djoos’s age and potential?

I think this is a poor trade for TB but not sure I would veto. That said 3 vetos sends this back to the drawing board.

Thanks PR

I’ve made an alternate offer and asked Indians what he prefers to do.

I think we’ve over valued draft picks, as a Dal Colle owner I might be bias. Also with the market, age, PP distribution ability, and next years extension I think people are not putting themselves in Djoos owner’s position. A second rounder wouldn’t pry the Djoos loose.
