Hurricanes make this trade to add more versatility to the top 9 and address the organization's lack of depth at center.

Parayako is a tough guy to let go but you have to give to get and we are hoping that there will be one more additional trade down the line for a depth defensemen to compensate for the loss of Parayko on the backend. Greenway could develop into a nice power forward type but there is a very small window to win this thing and that was the price to get this deal done.

Columbus to confirm.

CBJ brass agree to this trade even though it is riddled with extra homework. Colton Parayko is a Monster and welcome addition to the CBJ future. Jorday Greenway is a player targeted in the 2015 draft by Blkice Hockey management but missed out on, I believe this will be his last season at BU. 3rd round pick......self explanatory. Thanks for the talks Halo and sorry for the black eye.

I approve if the mods confirm that franchise tags can be applied immediately in a trade...

to me a franchise tag seems to a secondary move to become cap compliant after the fact and we've seen trades struck down because they wouldn't have been roster compliant until after the fact. If you consider that the fact that you can't franchise a player that you don't own and when they deal goes through it is over the cap, this deal may be invalid. I don't know that you can do two roster actions at once, and much like a math problem, I see this as an order of operations issue.

We can easily break it into two trades if it's an issue.

Parayko 5.7m for Pageau 4.7m and Mathias .4m

Franchise Tag applied

Then

Greenway Stajan 1.0m and a third for Scandela 2.6m.

Either way is fine. Columbus is well under the cap so I don't forsee much of a problem but that's what we will do if there is an issue.

Ha Lighten up Francis, I think the franchise tag and BO Disco are merely a series of events. A franchise tag post has to be made as soon as the deal is golden. Not to mention a separate post for the BO Discos that need to be applied. I think the Hair splitting machine needs to be turned off.  Its not a one stop shop all the proper paper work needs to be and will be filed. Its just sort of a crystal ball to the future happenings of the deal.  :toast:

If this puts you guys over the cap before a Franchise Tag discount is applied you'll have to post 2 trades.
