Title: Trade: Pelicans and Bullets
Post by: Brent on November 05, 2020, 04:48:29 PM
The Pelicans and Bullets agree on the trade below.  The Pelicans do this due to the team ending up with 3 RFAs and 1 FA this season of core players from last season's run.  I am using this opportunity to shift strategy and with that I will move away from Ball and add a big who I've always wanted on a team.  Moving Hart, Wilson and my 2021 2nd is part of getting the deal done. Thanks for the negotiations Ryan.  Bullets to confirm.

Pelicans trade:
SG Josh Hart   $2.4 (2020/2021, RFA)
PG Lonzo Ball   $9.1 (2020/2021, RFA)
PF DJ Wilson   $3.3 (2020/2021, Should be RFA)
2021 :NOP: 2nd Round Pick

for

Bullets trade:
PF Kristaps Porzingis    $25.0 (2022/2023)

Bullets confirm.

When I went all in last year, but for this coming season, I knew I'd likely need to make a deal like this.  Picking up a player like Ball, rounds out my lineup very nicely while hart makes up much of the scoring difference between Ball and Kristaps.  Getting DJ Wilson added is a hope that he is able to capitalize on all the upside and adding the second round pick to get me back into the draft.  This deal also saves me about 10M to potentially be able to add another piece.  Thanks Brent and good luck!

Also updated Wilson on RFA list, can move all 3 to Bullets when processing.

Solid deal! Return feels very even for both teams (KP is big, but carries a big cap hit).

Nice deal!

Porzingis is a very a nice player and too big for this deal but his injuries make this trade even for both sides, so..

All players to active, except DJ Wilson who is moved to Bullets inactive. No rush in off season, but looks like you will want to move guys around on Bullets.

I also had a few places showing Wizards, so think got changes to Bullets everywhere.
