Title: Retirement
Post by: Rob on June 30, 2020, 01:14:57 PM
Hey guys.  I hope you're all well and surviving the pandemic!

As some of you already know, since last year I've been a bit burnt out on running the league.  Corey jumped in to help with transactions and has been amazing.  However, even with a decreased role I haven't found any new motivation.  Covid kinda put us in a weird hiatus and it hasn't bothered me in the least not having to manage things here.  This kinda reinforced how spent I am with this.  I don't want to continue on and end up half-a$$ing things.  I think with the NHL on pause for Covid it's a good opportunity for me to bow out.  It's been an awesome run and I've enjoyed playing this game with all of you.  We've had an amazing core of members here that have made it such a blast.

I'd like to turn the reins over.  A few of you would be great candidates to run things.  Gypsie and Anthony do much of the admin now - I've only been updating Fantrax since last year.  I figure this thread will be a good place to hash out leadership moving forward and plan for the upcoming season.

Thank you all - much love!

Rob

I will keep doing the ProFSL and Google Sheets.  If Anthony continues with Fantrax that is a good bit of the tedious bits.  Maybe someone else can help with Fantrax.

I'd throw a vote Shooter's way to be the league runner.  They seem to be fair in their dealings with all GMs, know hockey, and probably won't want to make constant changes to the league rules (like I would).

Hopefully Rob wants to stick around and manage the Bruins back up.

Thanks Rob for being available and understanding with a less experience member like me, your explanations and advices were always appreciated. I also hope you will stick around and manage the Bruins.  Good luck and thanks again for the hard work you’ve done while managing our League.  :toast:

Thanks for everything, Rob.  It's been a pleasure to be in your league.

If you're on the fence about continuing to GM the Bruins, I hope you give that some time to mull over.  Speaking for myself, it's amazing how much I've been able to economize on managing my team by finally accepting that, no matter how time/research I put into it, I probably was never going to make it over the hump anyway!

Dang. I leave this site for 2+ months and Rob has retired? Sheesh.

Thanks for everything you've done, this has 100% been the best run league on this site that I've been in, so kudos to you for building and maintaining such a strong league with strong ownership retention!

Look forward to seeing your Bruins franchise continue to flounder though, so at least there's that ;)

Cheers :toast:
