Milwaukee Brewers History :MIL:

2012: 3rd in NL Central (85-77)
The regression of the Brewers has been clear.  They went from winning 110 games and being a World Series contender to finishing 3rd in the division.  Still, Milwaukee plays in the toughest division, and managed to have a winning record and almost make the playoffs after a rough first half.  Don't count this team out going forward.

2011: 2nd in NL Central, Wildcard (102-60)
Milwaukee came off a disappointing postseason to be a force once again in the NL.  This time, their division lead slipped away, but the team managed to make 100 wins and easily take the wildcard.  The Brewers beat the Phillies in the NLDS, but lost a lights out series against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS.  Three straight years of playoffs and no World Series, but plenty of young talent coming up through the farm means plenty of success in Milwaukee's future.

2010: NL Central Champs (110-52)
Ben got busy once the offseason hit by making a huge trade with rival St. Louis in order to obtain Albert Pujols.  He dealt five top of the line prospects for this 1B power house.  CI Carter, Chris, CI Gamel, Mat, P Perez, Martin, P Rondon, Hector, C Santana, Carlos may be names to remember a few years from now, but this move put the Brewers as one of the teams to beat in the National League in 2010.

The Brewers had an amazing start and didn't lose a beat in their finish for one of the best records ever.  It was the first time the franchise had a 100-win season.  Unfortunately, the Brew Crew's regular season success could not be repeated as the Philadelphia Phillies once again knocked them out of the playoffs in the NLDS.  The Brewers had the most wins of any MLB team since the 2001 Mariners who went 116-46.  The Brewers joined the Mariners as one of the only teams to have more than 105 wins and not make it to the World Series.

2009: NL Central Champs (94-68)
It is hard to believe that Ben was not one of the originals, but he was the first one to be the second GM of a franchise in this league.  He came out swinging by grabbing a bunch of top prospects that other franchises did not claim in their original 40-man rosters.  This, along with a couple trades for veterans, put his team over the top in the race for the playoffs.  His Brewers then won the NL Central and beat the Marlins in the NLDS.  Eventually, his team fell to the Phillies in the NLCS.  His peers voted him as the 2009 GM of the Year.

  • Jwalkerjr88: It was dallas. I think he missed the playoffs that year. Then used the draft picks on the 2021 class. Every pick was the 32nd pick (dont remembee what the other 1st became)
  • Jwalkerjr88: Idk if anyone remembers the 2021 class but it was weak on offense outside or the top 10-15. I dont regret the deal just learned and move on. As long as you have assets, you can mold your build how you want. Picks are usually the most valuable asset because most gms want in on a draft.
