Title: Poops and Giggles
Post by: VolsRaysBucs on May 15, 2013, 10:34:33 PM
Fellas, Oudan and myself need your help in deciding "whose is bigger."  Simply put, which one of us would you rather have run your team in a baseball cash league?  Both contestants have promised to hold no grudges to any voting participants.  We all wanted more activity in FGM, well here we go...please cast your votes below.   :koolaid:

Where's the pool?  My vote is for OUDAN who has done some pretty good things and will surely be tested this year in the Invitational.

OUDan without reservation.  Doesn't mind taking chances with trades loses some but seems to win most!

1)  NYY have severely decreasing payroll.

2)  Clearly a rotating door for a roster.  Dan can't figure out a roster that wins and stick with it.

3)  A roster of 29 players with a 222m payroll?  What about subs?  More ABs?

4)  Current record and fantasy points totals.

5)  TB has a powerhouse roster.

I like TB formula way way better than Dan's NYY.  NYY is headed for dark days if they cant figure out their shrinking cap and albatross contracts (Konerko is retiring after this year and Dan then owes him another 24m for two years of retirement).  Dan hasn't won anything that should be expected.  Playoffs...is that what you point to Dan?  You have 222m dollars!

6)  The power of the Yankees payroll is to be able to force anyones hand, win any bid, and etc.  Dan can't do anything, he's maxed out on 29 players (yes only 29).

My vote goes to Mike (?) hand's down.  As far as grow slowely and steadily...that equals sustainability.  It's the right way to build.  Mike is a model franchise in my opinion.

VolsRaysBucs History

FGM 2012 Tampa Bay Rays   69-91-0
MB 2012 Tampa Bay Rays   72-82-0

Oudan History

FGM - 2012 New York Yankees   120-40-0
MB - 2012 Kansas City Royals    41-113-0 = Money League
NE - 2012 Kansas City Royals   49-25-0 = Money League/Lost in World Series/375% profit was made (took over the worst team in the league in 2011)
SD - 2012 St. Louis Cardinals   82-21-4 = Money League/Lost in NLCS/ 125% profit was made

FGM 2011 Fantrax is all messed up. Mike has done well in leagues, with the Rays and there low payroll. But the Rays are a fantasy heaven. OUDAN has done very well in NE and SD with teams. Bad year in MB for sure, but taking home huge profits and winning is what fantasy is about in money leagues.

OUDAN has my vote.

No mention of my loss in the invitational by fractions of a point to millertime?  The "heaven" of the Rays was fairly gutted before I took them in FGM, the fruits of my plans are evident now. As for moneyball, take a look at my roster before I stepped down and give me your thoughts? To suggest that KC w Butler, Moustakas, Hosmer and the #1 farm in baseball in 2012 was any less a "heaven" is inaccurate. I suppose quantity beats quality lol.

The Rays are way better in term of KC for fantasy purposes. Mous and Hos have been no shows in all of our leagues. The Rays are dynamite for fantasy.

I def respect your opinion, but the fact that Longoria missed half the season and Jennings about 2 months has to account for something, no? Also gutting a team so severely in 3 months that they have to jump ship to a ready-made contender w 200+ million payroll does as well, IMO. I do appreciate your breakdown of the Nats/Rays deal in FGM though, wish others thought it through.

Yea, not for sure why that deal was vetoed.

I agree without Longo the Rays are a challenge. I merely picked OUDAN just because the New Era worst to second and SD is good enough to take....

I am a numbers guy... Hence the breakdown on the Wash/TB deal lol.

I would have to go with mike. I play both and fear mike more with the talent he has locked up in Jones/Lawrie/Longoria/Jennings and marte. I also think tough to judge guy just because what his payroll is because I have to believe dan wouldn't have signed couple guys to 27 mill potter year contacts if he didn't have pockets. Mike has had ruin of injuries outside that he has a core that is way better them dan has with unlimited money

FULL DISCLOSURE

I gave myself a vote so I could see the results.  If you've not yet done so Oudan, feel free to give yourself a click as well.
