Pigsrule has a point.

There was only 1 hour and slightly under 4 minutes remaining until his bid was final.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Re: Kaspars Daugavins
« on: December 17, 2011, 11:19:50 AM »
Wait now. Can I have to give Kaspars a 1year, 2 year contract or does he qualify for a 3 year deal?

It seems like contracts for Kaspars can either be
1 year at 1.6m
2 years at 1.6m
2 years at 0.8m?
3 years at 0.6m? wouldn't this contract naturally be the best and cheapest contract
3 years at 1.6m?

I read the contract section and I'm not sure if I'm understanding the contract maximum years rule correctly.

Except for any contract inherited in 2010, all contracts must be no longer than five years.  Also, for a given salary, all contacts (extension, FA) have term limits (max years contract can be per the salary) as provided below.

Maximum Years
<= $1.4m, 2 years
$1.5m - $5.4m, 3 years
$5.5m - $7.9m, 4 years
>=$8m, 5 years (the overall limit)

I'd like to sign Kaspars to a 3 year contract.

Thanks commissioner! That helps me understand what to aim for and how the play-offs will unfold.

I agree with Drew in that manually tabulating scoring statistics would be tedious and painful especially since this league allows daily line-ups.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Question about the Playoffs
« on: December 14, 2011, 05:59:57 PM »
I'm trying to understand how this league sets up the playoffs? If I'm not mistaken we play the Franchise NHL Regular season until early March (according to last year's deadlines http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=8273.0) then the playoffs run from then until the end of the NHL's regular season?

Is that right?

Part 2 of this question. With such a deep league that appears to be split into 2 pools how do we set playoff positions? I don't see Boston nor the Islanders in my pool. Is there a chance my Sharks meet the Bruins in the playoffs assuming we both qualify?

I think it's great that the commissioner presents new ideas and allows discussion. Nothing worse than a commissioner that acts like a dictator.

You have my vote of confidence HockeyFreak6000.  :toast:

  • Rhino7: It’s a dynasty league so we assume everyone plans to return. This is the time for those who definitely don’t plan to return to say so that way we know ahead of time we have to find replacements. Nobody is pressuring you, it’s more of a courtesy to the LM who do this for nothing so they can make a game plan for next season.
