LA Lakers / Chicago Bulls Trade
«

Chicago Bulls Trade:
PF Lauri Markkanen, $5.5m (2020)
SG Denzel Valentine, $2.8m (2019)
LA Lakers Trade:
PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, $3.7m (2021)
LAL 2018 2nd Round (27th Overall)
Lakers confirm the trade.
Wow... Well, never thought I’d trade SGA, my Canadian kid and all around PG. But Markkanen was too tough to pass on, even with one less year of team control.
Denzel will be a nice role player for my bench. I didn’t want to put in the effort for the 27th pick for who to take. Apparently there’s some decent talent left but I don’t know who that is, haha.
Chicago to confirm. Thanks for the trade talks blkhwk

The Bulls confirm this trade the hockey guy was labled untouchable but SGA was too good to pass on. I think this kid will eat up some heavy minuted as the season rolls on. I got names for the 27th. Thanks Westcoast for the talks. I will stick around to watch this team develope

Denzel (3rd string on the DC)=2nd round level in a 20 team league
Shai=Markk
Shai is an unproven rookie sure, but his ability in college should translate well and be a good fantasy player in the NBA. I think next year Markk>Shai, but 2-3 years from now I think Shai passes him as an overall fantasy player.
Cloud, just because you highly value Lauri and feel he should get more does not constitute a veto to me. There is nothing illegal about this trade. There is no collusion and maybe Chi wants Shai more. This trade is fine to me, though on its face Chicago loses value year-1.

With Jabari Parker now in Chicago, Lauri's value drops and Shai is a guy that I'm really high on and should have an easy path to minutes. Denzel barely gets minutes and that was with LaVine out.
If that 2nd round pick ends up in the top half of the 2nd round, then it's essentially Shai and a 1st for Valentine and Lauri. 2nd rounders are more valuable in this league when 50% of them are actually 1st rounders.

No issue here, Geoff and Billy gave good reasoning and I also think SGA has a very fantasy friendly game and clearly no collusion so this should pass baring another veto

Don't see this one as being particularly lopsided either way. Good even deal with youth and flexibility on both sides.

Cris, there is a reason that you are a good owner, bc you can discern a value deal vs. a BS deal. Not all owners are that savvy. They will eventually leave...

Agreed. I think the Devers deal in FGM is a good example of that. Devers gives SD some now (and future) pop, giving up substantial pieces to get him (Mayo, Keith, and one other).

@idsjayhawk i understand that. To be clear, i wasnt judging anyone. I just know in NFL Live, you cant just draft 1-7 rds every year and sign a few FAs and be the champion. It wont happen

Agreed. I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ. I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.

That is probably even more true in baseball since your drafts don't payoff for 5 years or so. And I will admit my conservatism may be the reason I only have one championship here at ProFSL

I'm contemplating doing a complete tear down in NFL Live and rebuild. Honestly, I probably should have postered for it to be this season. I still might, but I would legit need to go into the draft with 3-4 top 10 picks/+ many others.

Yea nailing drafts and some key FAs helps too. But if you remember BAB you traded alvin kamara for the rams 1-7 draft picks. So the extra picks helped you nail the 2023 draft the way you did

And brent a tear down with you assets would look interesting. Personally i just think you need break one big asset down into 3 good ones and move carr and go from there. But you have an A1 nfl mind so im sure you will nail whatever it is you decide

Thank you. Yes, I agree. I do need to break one asset down to 3. I did that with JJ, went from S tier to 2 A tiers. Now I need to potentially go from an A tier to 3 Bs or something like that. I've had some inquiries on Carr, but nothing worth moving him.
