Clippers make this trade as Huerter was getting restrictive for the trades we want to make as it is hard to build a roster through trades when reserving an unknown amount to match Huerter in RFA. If Dinwiddie can stay healthy we think he makes a good addition at a reasonable price, which is what we are after at this point.

Los Angeles Clippers needed a point guard upgrade as Frank Ntilikina and Elfrid Payton weren't going to cut it. Smart is reasonably priced for his production level and the picks may or may not amount to anything.

Initial moves for my 2nd team of Los Angeles Clippers.

1) Extend Jae'Sean Tate #90 in 21-22 and #62 in 20-21, extension price of $15m, extend for 1-year
2) Release the following free agents: Zavier Simpson, Armoni Brooks
3) Activate Wenyen Gabriel $0.5m (2023) from G-League to Active Roster

Garland was great down the stretch and Williams has potential. We are hoping this will shave some cap off in future years as well. Williams is also hopefully SF eligible, which is something this team definitely needs.

We had to move Davis' contract at some point. I'm definitely losing the best player, but at my cap situation he would have turned out to be a one year rental anyway, which isn't my style. I get some good young guys with potential in Hayes and Okeke and a 1st round draft pick so I can live with losing Anthony Davis.
