Phillies agree to this as we are building for the future. Murphy is a serviceable MI but I believe he hit his ceiling and he is what he is and I am not going to win with him so its worth the gamble on more young guys. Betts has good upside and should make the bigs next year.

Southsiders agree to this deal. While we also agree Murphy has hit his ceiling, his ceiling isfairly decent. All the guys we moved come with question marks whether it be injury or time to the show. Although Betts was in our long term plans, Murphy will be good for the next few years. Plus, he adds a level of grittiness to our clubhouse that is sorely lacking. Thanks for the talks Papps, enjoy doing what Ruben Amaro Jr seems to be totally opposed to.
