Dynasty NHL: Completed Transactions / Detroit Roster Moves
« on: August 09, 2019, 12:33:54 PM »
In order to be roster size compliant, Detroit calls up:

LW Andreas Johnsson, $m (P-20/21)
LW Nikolai Prokhorkin, $m (P-n/a)

47
To Boston
X- 2021 1st Round Draft Pick, Detroit, $m this year
C Victor Rask, $1.6m (2021-2022)

To Detroit
C Mikael Backlund, $6m (2020-2021)
$6m in 2019-20
$6m in 2020-21

Rob is already flipping Backlund, talk about efficiency... Detroit is trying to get a upgrade here and turn our terrible rebuild into a makeshift retool, because those always work out...

This trade is post-dated until after this year's supplemental draft

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / DET MiLR RELEASES
« on: August 07, 2019, 04:07:15 PM »
Detroit is making some cuts to its minor league squad:

C - James Lodge (2013: 3/85 - 0 Games)
D - Ludwig Bystrom (2012: 2/43 - 0 Games)
G - Thomas McCollum (2008: 1/30 - 3 Games)  Updated Apr15/19

Too bad these guys couldn't make the big time.

49
To Islanders:
Zach Hyman, $2.3m (2017-2020)
Semyon Varlamov, $7.3m (2018-2022)
C - Michael McLeod (2016: 1/12 - 21 Games)
Round 2 - 2019  (from :CLG:*)

To Red Wings:
Ryan Johansen, $6.4m (2016-2020) $4.0m (2019-2022)
Robin Lehner, $5.8m (2015-2019) $7.4m (2019-2023)

The Islanders posted extensions for these two players, so I hope it is alright that I included them in this post PPG.

Detroit makes this deal to lower our average goalie age by a tiny bit. Lehner may split starts with Crawford or he may be the #1 this year, but I expect him to the the #1 goalie in Chicago for the length of his contact. Trading Hyman for Johansen helps diversify my roster a little bit as I already have Marner. We think this deal is good for both clubs. Thanks Johnny for the talks, it was a pleasure as always.  :toast:

X- 2020 2nd Round Draft Pick, Detroit, $m this year

Rob offered to take on bad contracts, so I took him up on the offer.

  • dbreer23: Take two to tango, though. Most owners with adequate or surplus SP aren't interested in prospects as they're trying to win now.
  • Daddy: Agreed. But most does not equal all.

  • Braves155: My issue in LIVE currently is having Strider/Alcantara/Giolito all on the long shelf, so I am more retooling than rebuilding
    Yesterday at 02:46:48 PM
  • Daddy: Also agreed. Top quality pitching probably means not much depth. A few injuries can challenge you. Pitching other than top end pitching has been devalued in fantasy. Everyone wants the stud.

  • Daddy: I here to tell you that ALL major league pitching is good pitching. A great hitter beats a terrible pitcher just 3 out of 10 times. Which means the worst pitchers > the greatest hitters.

  • Braves155: The problem with the minors is not the system as a whole, it is some Farm Systems are more 'elite' at being able to produce talent than others. If you look across MLB teams you can pretty easily tell the great systems from the weaker systems and talent development
    Yesterday at 05:57:14 PM
  • Braves155: With regard to pitching in the Minors...there is  method to the madness. It is all about what you make of it tho. I agree that it can seem certain type arms in the minors are a dime a dozen

  • Daddy: Mr Braves you are my guy. There isnt anything wrong with minor league studs or flops. I get it in REAL baseball.
  • Daddy: This is fantasy baseball. We dont generate revenue selling prospects and merchandising. Our top farms dont get a write up in Sports Illustrated.
  • Daddy: Load up on MLB guys, then near MLB guys, and only then is the quality of your prospects matter. Ya dig ;)
