Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / Re: Contract Extensions« on: December 12, 2011, 08:57:04 AM »
I am ok either way. If we do go with extensions, two thoughts:
1) I don't think players should not be able to make less than the previous year. Players in the real MLB are not going to take less money to remain with their team (except in rare circumstances) unless they have tried the free agent market. 2) Would we want to consider some kind of limitations? I'd hate to see the free agent pool be completely closed off from players that will help improve teams. 3953
Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / Re: Salary Cap / Free Agency« on: December 12, 2011, 08:42:14 AM »
The Consititution states that any team that started over the cap, i.e. Boston & NY, has until March 1, 2012 to comply. The provision also allows the commissioner to release player or assess other penalties to achieve a payroll under the $125 cap.
I don't know however, how that works with free agency, whether they will be allowed to bid or not? 3954
Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Invalid Transactions / KC Royals move« on: December 10, 2011, 03:32:32 PM »
Royals assign OF Michael Taylor to Omaha (AAA). I assume he remains on the 40 man roster, since that is where he was in Oakland?

I just noticed that 19 teams forfeited their pick last round. I am wondering if it would be helpful to pm these teams to see if they are going to pick or if they are done. I'd be willing to help do this to move this along a little faster.
Thanks, Cris 3959

accepts.
The Royals get a solid pitcher and a good outfield prospect, both of which I anticipate will make up for the loss of Melky Cabrera, who is hard to let go with 20-20 potential. |
