Gambling here but Expos do this in hopes of buying somewhat low on Merrifield for 2 prospects who have had their shine rub off a little. Also the 1M in total cap space will provide the club a little bit of cap space. Not easy giving India up, bu Montreal has depth at mid INF

With Merrifield turning 33 a few months ago, getting out from the 11M in the final 2 years of this contract, and the potential India has after winning ROY last year, this was a deal we just could not pass up. India is hurt right now, but the are looking to 2023. Hiura just got sent down, but you take some gambles on players. Sometimes they pay off. Hopefully he figures out how to hit big league pitching.
