Giants Off-Season Trade Block, Pre-Draft: 11/11/23
The Giants are entering a full rebuild. Prospects and young players with team control are preferred. No player is totally off limits, all trade offers will be considered, but I would prefer to hang on to my prospects and young core players. I also have the cap flexibility to take on bad expiring contracts.
Note: Starred Players were just extended, and have to wait for the no trade period to end.
C Omar Narvaez - Mets, $5.5 (2025)*
CI Lamonte Wade, Jr. - Giants, $0.5 (P-2024)
CI Wilmer Flores - Giants, $7.0 (2027)*
CI Brandon Belt - FA, $5.0 (2025)*
CI Darin Ruf - FA, $1.5 (2024)
CI David Villar - Gaints, $0.5 (P-N/A)
MI Livan Soto - Angels, $0.5 (P-N/A)
OF Mark Canha - Tigers, $6.0 (2024)
OF Mike Yastrzemski - Giants, $4.0 (2025)
OF Mitch Haniger - Giants, $5.5 (2024)
CI/MI/OF Chris Taylor - Dodgers, $7.5 (2025)*
SP Alex Cobb - Giants, $3.5 (2024)
SP Austin Gomber - Rockies, $1.5 (2024)
SP Anthony DeSclafani - Giants, $5.5 (2024)
SP Carlos Carrasco - FA, $2.5 (2024)
SP Brad Keller - FA, $1.0 (2024)
SP Johnny Cueto - FA, $4.0 (2024)
SP Michael Plassmeyer - Phillies, $0.5 (P-NA)
RP Luis Garcia - FA, $0.5 (P-2025)*
SP/RP Alex Wood - FA, $4.0 (2026)*
SP/RP Cole Irvin - Orioles, $5.5 (2027)*
SP/RP Jamie Barria - FA, $0.5 (2025)*

Is a young team and willing to deal most CURRENT MLB players for the right price. Right now this is how the team looks to be shaking up:
Needs: C, CI, MI...more MLB talent on offense.
Top bats - Greene, Frelick, Gelof...notable prospects:
J. Quero, R. Crawford, W. Bernabel, I. Alvarez
Pitching could be interesting as the staff is young
Cortes & Clevinger are OTB
Hopeful future rotation:
Dodd/Grove/Olson/Stone with other prospects in the fold...Schwellenbach/Estes/Porter/Bratt/Phillips
If you see a potential deal, let's go!

I will entertain ALL Trade Packages for my Roster.
I consider Volpe to be my FRANCHISE PLAYER...Allen, Gore, and Joyce are solid pieces of my pitching staff.
I AM OPEN FOR BUSINESS!!!

RP Reynaldo Lopez (2024, $1.0) OTB - just signed with ATL!
Looking for a cost-controlled (or near-ready prospect) hitter in return. Thanks!

They trade, about as often as real teams do. For people that love year round trading, being in one league, one sport, its going to be difficult.

And that's why I haven't traded Carr yet. Someone doesn't have a QB or thinks they'll get one in FA/draft and might be left wanting.

@Alpha if a team in MLB LIVE has two starting 1Bs then there is also a team without one.

@jwalker I make like 2-3 trades a year for each of my baseball teams, maybe. I'll tell you part of the reason I don't trade. Every trade discussion starts out with the other team wanting my top prospect regardless of what I am trading for. I am not trading Jackson Holliday for your backup catcher who is going to play 20 games this year.

Football is just harder. You can build a team and 3 years later its irrelevant due to injury, retirement, roster turnover.

Cris, there is a reason that you are a good owner, bc you can discern a value deal vs. a BS deal. Not all owners are that savvy. They will eventually leave...

Nope, 32-team contract league.
Today

I don't have Holiday. Just used him as an example since he was the #1 prospect

@Alpha I do make trades. I am just not giving up the entire farm to land a guy I can get out of the FA pool

Trading should be a win-win situation for both teams.

Agreed. I think the Devers deal in FGM is a good example of that. Devers gives SD some now (and future) pop, giving up substantial pieces to get him (Mayo, Keith, and one other).

I had Holliday in FGM before I stepped away.

@idsjayhawk i understand that. To be clear, i wasnt judging anyone. I just know in NFL Live, you cant just draft 1-7 rds every year and sign a few FAs and be the champion. It wont happen

Carolina has kyren williams right now cause i traded him for a 2nd and a 4th. Id rather have kyren today lol
Today
at 01:54:28 PM
Brent

Agreed. I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ. I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.
Today

That is probably even more true in baseball since your drafts don't payoff for 5 years or so. And I will admit my conservatism may be the reason I only have one championship here at ProFSL
