Alrighty then. Who wants to start this thread off? What, No one? Alright. I might as well throw my predictions out there for best teams in the West this year.
PPG's TOP 8 WESTERN CONFERENCE TEAMS THAT MAKE THE PLAY-OFFS
8. :DAL-NHL: Will need to keep up this year
7. :SJ: Turned a corner this off-season and will contend
6. :NAS: A new owner makes big difference, so do a few key trades.
5. :STL-NHL: New ownership makes huge difference, rebuild happens fast. :thumbsup:
4. :MIN-NHL: talented line-up always in it annually.
3. :LA: Always in the mix with Quick!
2. :PHO: Lundqvist only made these guys better, Thanks Papps! >:(
1. :CHI-NHL: What did you expect?! Obviously my Hawks will be 1st in line! LOL
My Wildcard team with the potential to spoil it for a contender and sneak into the post season is :ANA: but only if they land a starting goalie!

BTW how many teams make the playoffs per conference now that we've been realigned!?

hahaha, the Isles are so good, they should be included in the Western Conference predictions. I think the Wings, should have been up there too, at least we used to be in the Western Conference.

Well, that's fine by me, especially given the monster of a Bryzgalov contract.
Being an underdog definitely suits me. But watch out, I may come and surprise you! :bacon:

I think :EDM: will be in the playoffs in FNHL.
:SJ: needs Vokoun back and Lehner to start 50% of Sens games.
:DAL-NHL: is a strong team and should have easier time reaching postseason.
There will be a big race in the FNHL Western conference this season. Lots of determined teams with good owners! :thumbsup:

So now that :ANA: has a starting goalie in Craig Anderson, sit 1st in the competitive Pacific Division (tied with last yr's champ :PHO: and :LA:), and have the 4th highest scoring team in the Western Conference... I'd say :ANA: is now more than just a wild card team vying for a Play-off spot.
The Ducks are now legit contenders in the West! :thumbsup: :toast: Good job rebuilding, Cloud! :winner:

I think now's a good time to revisit this prediction by PPG.
:PHO: and :DAL-NHL: having a tough year.
:LA: was in somewhat tough shape until Dickie bought them and now the Kings are on my Sharks' heals.
:ANA: is kicking butt in Pacific with 2 great goalies in the line up.
:WIN: is totally in there too.
Not bad PPG.
Would've been cool to see your predictions for the East and compare them to the current standings. Oh well maybe next year. :thumbsup:

Some solid predictions by PPG and others that missed big time. Normal as predictions go.
:ANA: has been killing since adding that first goalie. Cloud91 did a great job rebuilding that Ducks franchise.
Liking what's going on in :WIN: JWF is a gamer of a GM and toughed out that Bryzgalov headache of a contract.
New Owners Ripper in :STL-NHL: and e40 in :NAS: have both reshaped their rosters. Keep it up guys!
:SJ: might actually return to the postseason but that Vokoun contract must be a pain to carry.
