RW Joe Pavelski, $7.5m (2017-2018)
Carolina sends $7.5m in cash

Carolina gets
C German Rubtsov, $m (P-n/a)
C Travis Konecny, $m (P-n/a)
G Scott Wedgewood, $m (P-n/a)
2018 1st rounder

I give up lots of youth but I want to make a run at winning this year.  I feel like I can compete with the top teams like Anaheim and Florida so I'm going for it.

Hurricanes confirm.   

Moving Pavelski is tough when I am still trying to win it all, but my overall depth should help out.  I get an nhl ready guy in konecney, a datsyuk 2.0 in rubstov, possible backup goalie this year in wedgewood and a 1st round pick.  That is a nice return for anyone.
