Giving the edge to VGK by adding a SDP though if DET is clearing more cap they're definitely winning too.

MIN wins for adding future pieces to their Wild puzzle. Just the draft pick puts them on top here.

Franchise NHL / Re: 2020 Stanley Cup Predictions?« on: August 21, 2020, 06:13:45 PM »2 blown calls that could cost a franchise revenue. I hate the Habs but I'm with you guys on this. No place in the NHL for bad refereeing in the playoffs. Amateur hour by Chris Lee and Kyle Rehman. Also, Alain Vigneault's cheap shot comments about Gallagher being short leading to the cross check on the face was down right class-less. I've lost all respect for Vigneault. This should be the beginning of the end for him in Philly. 27

Giving the edge to the Buds who got out of a bad cap jam and turned it into positive for their team's future.

Franchise NHL / Re: DISCUSSION: DECREASE 2021-22 CAP CEILING?« on: August 11, 2020, 12:14:49 PM »Ultimately, a 5% rollback of any salary cap ceiling is a drop in the hat. That's the point. It's not a significant rollback by any means. This would help level the playing field for all franchises. Mind you, given the pandemic, the NHL might be forced to reduce the cap ceiling anyways in 2021-22 so it could still happen naturally whether FNHL owners vote to introduce it artificially or not. I have to say, at first I wasn't in favour of a rollback but after hearing the pros and cons, I am on board for a small rollback to keep all teams in the league in check financially. I do think the NHL will naturally rollback the cap given how COVID-19 has cut deep into league revenues due to zero attendance and very limited merchandise sales since the pandemic started and there doesn't appear to be a end to this at least not before the midpoint of the 2020-21 season at best. 30
Franchise NHL / Re: 2020 Stanley Cup Predictions?« on: August 04, 2020, 11:08:47 AM »3 weeks before the c19 stoppage I really liked how Carolina was jelling especially with Geekie up. I still feel the same. They are up 2-0 against the RangersAfter the 1st two games, Canes looking strong. I'd also like to see Minnesota's next game before giving them a big thumbs up. Not sure Stalock was the real deal last game or just ahead of the curve shaking off the rust from the COVID-19 layoff relative to the Canucks. |
