alright Drew, but no kissing on the first date. lol

looking at your :MIN-NHL: line-up i can't help but to feel a little inadequate in the goalie department.

Let me say this; Drew is a great manager.  He was able to get some great deals very early on.  There were a few which were horrific to say the least.  But the natural market will correct this.  Look at next season alone.  Drew will be facing serious decisions.  Souray will command a contract larger than what he has coming off the books.  The other few guys might come cheap this go around; but it's a sign of things to come.  Drew will have to make choices.  This league should see cycles.  I know the Wild are on top right now, but cap realities will be setting in in the next few years.  His team will be auctioned off or cut up.  Not to bash on Drew, but tis the nature of the beast!

@Gilly: well it'll all be for not if drew's goalies crush me which is looking more like the case 2 days into the week.

@ joeshmoe: yes but drew's a shrewd dealer so he'll likely move expensive pieces and reload with cheaper ones. i think you'll do the same with your bruins.

Tampa is just gonna keep getting better baby, I shed a ton of salary this offseason. I had 14mil tied up in buyouts alone, rediculous Mattias Ohlund contract.

I know he is a good dealer but it is also a time where managers on a whole are hopefully a little more shrewd and the bad ones don't have many pieces left haha, jk!  My Bruins are actually in reasonably good shape.  Remember I have been carrying Savards 4m hit as well, for nothing.  I think I have a good farm as well, which is why Bishop and Nyquist and Colborne and Caron will be lucratively cheap pieces.  I think my Bruins need to maybe diversify, but even then I am not sure.  When the NHL Bruins run train my team is unreal.  I also like holding players because they move on and that helps diversify.  Look at what's happening with Blake Wheeler with the Jets!!!  Nyquist and Colborne are for different organizations as well.

Heading into next season, I have three high quality goaltenders at a total hit combined of 6.9m!  Anderson costs Drew 10m until 2016.  Lets hope Anderson can keep his job from Bishop.  I remember a trade for Price a long time ago that Drew called Bishop basically junk.  It will be interesting to actually see how this pans out (for fun Drew).  I saw Bishop play a lot in person, at the rink, the kid is a monster goalie.  He is going to be really good.  I think Anderson is a waste for that much cash.  Hopefully for Drew I'm wrong.  I think you have inspired me to do an end of season power rankings.  Anyone want to help me?

  • Braves155: My issue in LIVE currently is having Strider/Alcantara/Giolito all on the long shelf, so I am more retooling than rebuilding

  • Daddy: Also agreed. Top quality pitching probably means not much depth. A few injuries can challenge you. Pitching other than top end pitching has been devalued in fantasy. Everyone wants the stud.

  • Daddy: I here to tell you that ALL major league pitching is good pitching. A great hitter beats a terrible pitcher just 3 out of 10 times. Which means the worst pitchers > the greatest hitters.

  • Brent: Greg Maddux had the best outlook.  He viewed himself as tye dealer/house and you had to beat him.  Just like in the casino, the house nearly always wins.
    May 05, 2024, 04:33:51 PM
  • Brent: He had that view b/c of his father who was a blackjack dealer in Vegas.
    May 05, 2024, 04:35:28 PM
  • Daddy: Yes @Brent!! That is it exactly. Pitching is the house & it always wins in the end.

  • Daddy: There shouldn't be many innings available in FA in dynasty fantasy leagues IMO. Thats guaranteed money! To hell with High A ball.
    May 05, 2024, 05:21:23 PM
  • Daddy: Until someone starts a minor league baseball fantasy game or option. Maybe we can petition fantrax? I just dont think they will care for that.
    May 05, 2024, 05:23:07 PM

  • Braves155: The problem with the minors is not the system as a whole, it is some Farm Systems are more 'elite' at being able to produce talent than others. If you look across MLB teams you can pretty easily tell the great systems from the weaker systems and talent development
    May 05, 2024, 05:57:14 PM
  • Braves155: With regard to pitching in the Minors...there is  method to the madness. It is all about what you make of it tho. I agree that it can seem certain type arms in the minors are a dime a dozen
    May 05, 2024, 06:02:39 PM
  • Daddy: Mr Braves you are my guy. There isnt anything wrong with minor league studs or flops. I get it in REAL baseball.
    May 05, 2024, 06:20:28 PM
  • Daddy: This is fantasy baseball. We dont generate revenue selling prospects and merchandising. Our top farms dont get a write up in Sports Illustrated.
    May 05, 2024, 06:22:29 PM
  • Daddy: Load up on MLB guys, then near MLB guys, and only then is the quality of your prospects matter. Ya dig ;)
